@manson
I agree those were born as cars that can handle all the power and are meant to do it without breaking into a sweat. The Octavia on the other hand is not. That is what makes it special.

By I see no harm in comparing this to the real supercars like the GTR or the 911. It beats them on power output and costs a lot less and is accessible to many, to say the least. It seats four in comfort and is still a practical sedan that you can go shopping with. It may not be a patch on those supercars in terms of road prowess or the real world performance, but it is still a serious piece of machinery.

And yes to get good 0-100kmph timings, you need a lot of talent, even more practice and a whole lot of courage. getting a good launch is tough as is getting it going. The next car will be properly tested for you.

But hey, its headed to Bombay, and hopefully the owner will soon have a go at KS' dyno.
Vivek, comparing it to a GTR, or Porsche will just not be right,. those cars will certainly put their power down more effectively, and handle the horses a lot better too.

manson.
Yea and we want the graphs up here on T-Bhp.

500bhp on Mumbai roads. Wonder if this would be there at Torque nite this november.

Wow!! Well done Peter. So its finally done eh?
But, isn't 500 bhp kind of academic in a FWD? Don't get me wrong guys. I truly appreciate the work that has been done but, can the Octy put down all this power effectively?

Can't even imagine what a HIGH this car is going to be! Wish I had the money for this!

Peter, how much do I have to shell out? And you do have a 0% EMI scheme right??

Way to get Pete's !!
Not 500bhp. But Like someone said a junior monster at 350 bhp would make your Rs fly.
So Start a thread already "Laal Pari turns Monster"

500HP on an Octavia..

So this is one of India's Fastest Octavia.

The 1st thing I would like to do after owning such a car would be overtaking the Supercars on our roads. Would love to see the owners reaction from the rear view mirror.

Great Job!!
And I hope for some more shockingly fast cars.

Just one stupid question: How does the whole package affect the handling? I mean does it require special driving skills?

No. It still is a car.

As you have asked, the mods cost Rs.14 lakhs over the donor car.

Do you mean to say it pulls to the side due to steer torque on accelerating and you dont need to steer while overtaking? What about control - when you dont want such things to happen.

Here is an Octavia which produces more power than a Nissan GTR.
If this car is still a FWD then the whole point of performance is lost. Rem the 300bhp version which did some 8 secs to 100.

It may have more power than a GTR but that thing does 0-100 in 3.5 secs and a 11.5 sec 1/4.

As an engine tune alone, what Pete's has done here is really creditable (provided the 500 horses are genuine), no denying that. 500bhp from a 1.8 is way more than anything we've seen here.

BTW, whats the max torque like and at what rpm does the power peak?

Sorry Pete, no offence meant but 500 BHP??!!

Trying to avoid sounding skeptical, (which I am) in the recent past one has seen such tall claims put to rest by a run on the Dyno. So i for one, am not believing this to be true till some dyno charts are posted. Sorry not being a sour puss but i find it hard to believe. Would love to be proved wrong anyday though.
Simple, if there no proof, dont make claims.

Would love to see a Dyno sheet with 500bhp graph of this car. it's a bit too much to digest.Anyway the car is from Bombay so may be it go to KSmotorsport for the dyno test.

Thats one Lovely video shantanu. But, torque-power curves are supposed to done on an engine dynamometer. (quoting someone who has spent hours..no, days and months in ARAI with engine dynos and chassis dynos.)

Tall claims, I for one think that this is one of the most pointless mods...It's one of those things that screams "mine's bigger than yours"!

500bhp even if true and dyno proven is utterly useless on a FWD Skoda! 300-350 ok fine it can handle it, but more than that is just stupid. I doubt you could pull a 0-100 dash in 5 seconds as this thing will probably wheel spin in every gear if launched at the peak of the powerband!

Anyway, I doubt the owner would dyno this thing at Karan's as he probably knows he's going to walk away depressed
