I'm not one for orthodox views, but the lack of Grab Rails are really going to be uncomfortable for a few! Oh, and the 2.0 has some storage space under the rear seat too!

Swing arm can be changed. In old R15 swing arm is connected by a single shaft.
To make it clear see the pic of old R15 swing arm

Well if you are talking that way, then you can update the whole bike...
I was simply mentioning that the new swing arm is very different from the old one, and one of the major upgrades on the version 2.

If handling & braking is up by a notch (the new swingarm & tires) I might trade in my mint R15 for this.

Re: Spy Pics: Yamaha R15 REFRESH EDIT: Version 2.0 launched

Visited yamaha factory today. The bike really looks good. Extremely sport bike looking.
The pics aren't even showing half of its beauty. I am now extremely excited and anxious to get mine in my hands.

Just a thought, rather than getting hit by the depreciation & then spending some more for the new R15, why not plonk in a Daytona kit to the existing one? I'm sure it will turn more heads

Re: Spy Pics: Yamaha R15 REFRESH EDIT: Version 2.0 launched

Thanks, but there is a genius by the name of Joel, who has made kits for various Motorcycles including R15's which are superior to Daytona. My location won't permit the same, else...

Check Abhay's thread, he too has gone for his kit

@Abhay - I have almost decided to switch, the only hurdle is my engine, its the Indonesian one & refinement levels are superior to the Indian made ones. No rattles despite the tacho hovering between 8-10K. This is one huge dilemma I am facing.

I have now stopped telling people about Joel who think Daytona is the best.
Also I feel you should not do the Exchange, if you are really looking for this look, you can buy those parts and convert it. It wouldn't cost you much more but then you get YOUR bike and its original engine.

Also the bike does look bigger than V1. The swingarm looks a little too stretched, IMO.

Re: Spy Pics: Yamaha R15 REFRESH EDIT: Version 2.0 launched

Thanks Abhay

I am not looking forward to the V2 because of looks. The wheelbase should aid stability and make it appear more proportionate, the swing-arm is new. Handling should improve.

I usually change bikes every 2-3 years as this method fetches good resale.

Parts swapping would take time as parts would take sometime to arrive, there might be some color difference (2 yr paint vs new) as well and till the parts catalog is out, one doesn't know as to how easy the swapping will be.

BTW, which color are you going for?

EDIT: Saw iamback's post, the swingarm is interchangeable, but would take more than 3 month;s time to arrive.

I have booked black but now I am confused between Red/White and Blue.
My ereason for black were -
1 - Least Common
2 - Least Noticeable.

AFAIK the bike is at all PVRs across Mumbai. Call YFS and confirm with them.
