So it's just another cosmetic upgrade or the engine has been worked upon too?

I wonder why call it as R15 v2 if all it has are cosmetic changes like LED taillamp and wider tyre.

I do hope that Yamaha has better reasons to call it as v2.

The invitation doesnt sound just like an cosmetic upgrade to me.

Now lets just wait till the 6th to hear the specs & more importantly the Pricing.

To me it sounds exactly like a cosmetic upgrade. Notice the words STYLE and DESIGN in the caption and the missing word PERFORMANCE.

Well, for once, I'd like to endorse reading between the lines.
Well, not one to defend Yamaha, but still think it includes a power bump.

I agree. A new rear sprocket, new clutch and a re-mapped ECU can only mean 1 thing, and that is a small bump up in bhp. Currently the output is pegged at 17 bhp. My personal guess is it may go up by 0.5-1.5 bhp.

Another news i have heard from a very reliable source is that the price will be reduced by about Rs 5,000 ex-showroom to counter the competition from the recently launched cbr 250. We shall soon find out on the 6th of September.

P.S how is anyone gonna carry a pillion with a narrow and angled back seat like that??

Looking sharp but now suddenly impractical for the streets with that redesigned rear seat! No pillion basically which i'm not sure is such a good thing. I'm definitely not going to have R15 in my lot as a fun bike to ride on weekends when i can get a CBR250 now. So it better be my everyday bike...

That's great news.
Was looking forward to this launch for sometime now and happy the wait is not going to be long.
Need to get behind the bars of this machine to really see what it can do.
Really praying it suits my need.
They should have tried getting into the 250cc league, would have definitely made heads, ears and eyes turn.

Official confirmation of launch.

Yamaha website started displaying banner on R15 V2

India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd.

I have a booking for CBR250r on hold just for this launch after which, hopefully i will be able to go for one of the two.

Should i also wait for the KTM DUKE 200 !! haha

re: Spy Pics: Yamaha R15 REFRESH EDIT: Version 2.0 launched

The teaser suggests a cosmetic upgrade. Anyway, my friend is about to buy an R15 at the earliest. Would it make sense to buy now and get a discount on the older one or wait till tomorrow? Or, is it worth waiting for the KTM Duke? He uses it mostly for his 50km commute to work.
