OT but curious to know the cost of the Tiger clutch (I'm assuming XC & XR series have different assemblies)?

Re: KTM 390 Adventure India launch confirmed. Edit: Launched at 2.99 lakh.

As per a fellow biker, the bookings for the KTM Adventure 390 have started in Kerala with a booking amount of Rs 5,000. The waiting period is 1.5 months. On road price is along the line of what I expected - Rs 3.85 L.

The clutch assembly is same if am not mistaken and would be around 32-34 plus labour coming to about 40k INR. Upgraded Barnett clutch pack and all is there which is also similar, if not more.

Kerala charges 20% road tax on motorcycles costing above 2 lakh, whereas it is only 10% otherwise. Motorcycles below this range are cheaper in Kerala compared to Karnataka.

IIRC, TVS Apache RR310 was launched at 1.99L in Kerala alone, compared to 2.05L everywhere else, just to avoid this tax slab.

Re: KTM 390 Adventure India launch confirmed. Edit: Launched at 2.99 lakh.

On road price in Bangalore is speculated at 3.8+ L, which is not really cheap.
Add some basic accessories/risers/luggage/aux/barkbusters/taller windshield/lower seat etc and it would all add upto 4.2+L OTR. The bike is still good value considering the features it provides and best part is that there is oem engine guard and bash plates, which reduced cost of the two must-have accessories. However, i wouldnt have complained if they could have reduced the price by replacing TFT with normal console. Sometimes excess of electronics/tech can be more of a bane. And we all have to carry phones anyways, might as well be it on the handlebar.

Nandi hills on republic day will be more crowded than the silkboard. Bad idea for that day, but could be s strategy to catch attention of the massive crowd of bikers. Best avoidable.

Could you please provide the showroom which has this display bike. I am interested in it but concerned about the seat height.

Seat heights. First one is 5.10. Second one is 6. Bhpian Katoom accompanied me.

Suspension sag is less than Gs310
Ergos seem good. 1 inch riser for the bars will be enough.

Re: KTM 390 Adventure India launch confirmed. Edit: Launched at 2.99 lakh.

I got a chance to check out this bike in person today, at the local showroom nearby. It looks amazing - properly proportioned but relatively small adventure tourer, unlike any other KTM so far, which typically have a smaller footprint.
I am about 5'9.5" but I still couldn't manage to flatfoot, probably left out by about half an inch or so. Weirdly, my shins were fouling with the foot pegs, on standstill. The handle bar is quite wide and was light enough to steer.

There's a launch event tomorrow, after which test rides will be available. As per the SA, the est. on-road price in Hyd would be around 3.5 to 3.6L, which is not bad considering the amount of 'bike' one's getting. If that's indeed true, then it makes a strong case for itself, compared even to the 650 twins. Yeah, it misses out on the retro classic looks, one less cylinder etc. but gets switchable traction control, comfortable seating, higher ground clearance etc.

I may be in the market (subject to Vitamin M), in the later half of the year for a dual-purpose bike. Thanks to the traffic in Hyd, a bike is increasingly making sense for the daily office commutes, apart from those occasional longer/early morning rides (if and when I fancy one). It'll be after almost 10 yrs, that I'll resume driving a bike, having owned a T-Bird and a Pulsar 180 DTSi. The GT 650 was making good sense, until this one came by; and it makes a compelling case given how feature loaded (especially the traction control) it is. The only thing I feel I'd need to check is how maneuverable it is to drive in the city, as that'll be where it'll spend most of it's time.
