Let's wait for official statement from RE. Looking at these prices, KTM adv 390s will fly off the shelves soon. Hope they will give special price for pre booked customers. Fingers crossed.

Would disagree, but why bother. All we need to do is wait until the evening to find out.

At 4.5L Ex-Showroom that too for a Non-Tubeless variant is crazy expensive for a Single Cylinder motorbike. Its a lot more money to pay for, when most folks would be able to do just enough from some lesser capable adv/scrams that offer advantages in other dept. Not to forget that's almost twice the price increase from OG himalayan.
Anything above 3.5L and this is going to loose advantage seriously.

Update: Saw that pricing leak on Youtube and looks pretty legit. Likely going to see a booking cancellation for myself by evening. Almost 5L onroad for this is outrageous!

Totally agree. There is a youtube video of motoverse doing rounds with price details. Not sure how authentic it is. I would be happy to be proven wrong and eat humble pie as I too have pre booked the Himmy

It has less cc & cylinders than interceptor. Can NOT cost more than that under any circumstances. If it does, it is dead on arrival.
IMO, the cap for launching price for lowest variant would be 2.79 L.

Rs 4L could be for export version with spoke tubeless wheels.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

I don't think that is the actual pricing but a placeholder value to test the slide for now. May also be an intentional leak to show a higher price through a leak and reveal a lower price in the evening. 2.7 to 3.5 lakhs is the range for base variant to top variant with tubeless spoke wheels.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

I remember the launch event for the 650 twins. They had first flashed a number that was quite high, almost equal to the price of a Harley Street 750 iirc. And then they revealed that it is the price of both the Twins combined.

Wonder if they are planning something similar though I can't imagine what the other bike could be.

So much for the teasing for this motorcycle! I am convinced that this is a deliberate "leak" of the 4L price tag!

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

Folks,

I guess we need to chill. 4L for any variant is unbelievable. RE did some drama during 650 twin launch. they displayed the price of ~5.5L ex-showroom, Sid Lal after little build-up, said price is for 2 bikes!!. I am expecting similar trickery here. May be they are launching 2 bikes with Sherpa engine ( Scram 450 ??).

If at all they go ahead with 4L ex-showroom price , I guess this will be dead before arrival. I strongly feel RE will price this very aggressively, it will punch much above its weight and its effect will be felt in every Indian bike costing above 2L.

My calculated guess with little business acumen coupled with motorbike enthusiasm says-
Base - 2.4 -2.5
Pass -2.5 -2.55
Summit - 2.55 -2.6.

Since mechanically all the variants are identical, there wont be too much price gap between variants.

Won't be happy if proven wrong

Cheers .

My solid assumption also is that it will be priced between the 411 and the Twin. If it goes by the currently leaked prices , then definitely cancelling my Hanle Black booking and will look for other better options.

We live in a truly amusing time where we fuel a controversial thought with our brains closed and then start discussing and debating on that somewhat ridiculous thought.

Since all of us can voice our opinions, and we are equal and democratic, anything goes.

It seems that first principles thinking is well understood yet sometimes ignored.
  • Can RE price the 450 at 4L in India? Yes they can.
  • Will they? Probably not. Why not?
  • Have we looked at the price of the previous Himalayan? Why does that matter?
  • It matters as the previous Himalayan has been discontinued and this new 450 *replaces* that.
  • And then there is product positioning. The Himalayan does not and will not exist in isolation. It has got bikes positioned above and below it. These bikes have a price ladder where they fit in, a common practice across the industry.

I can understand that there might be some fun in having a clickbait kind of discussion - however that dilutes this forum's sanctity.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

The supposedly leaked photographs which caused the rumours about the pricing are these

2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed-img_20231124_182347.jpg

2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed-img_20231124_182307.jpg

2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed-img_20231124_182243.jpg

In my guess, these are false prices flashed by RE guys with two reasons.

1. RE knew however whatever they show during the pre-event testing of screen/equipment would get leaked. Otherwise why check this slide only.

2. Intentionally warm up the environment and then reveal the actual prices which are much much lesser.

I would love to be proved wrong

Respect your view point.
With already an infraction in my kitty due to mobile thumb typing which led to auto correct mistakes, I would rather not risk thumb typing for clickbait sake . But since I had already seen the motoverse video where the price slides were being tested, I believed them to be the actual prices and posted. It's becoming clear that those were just dummy numbers used for testing the price reveal tonight. Hoping for meaningful pricing though.
