Holy cow!

It just grows on you. Please God, please let it be not higher than 2.5 Lacs. :(

I just spent the last 10 minutes staring at the time ticker trying to make it move faster. :P

Can't wait for the launch.

Hi guys the price is definitely going to be on the wrong side of 2.5L. It's a brand building exercise right now for Bajaj before it steps in the world of premium biking. And since we are getting the Euro spec Fi version which costs close to 2.6L abroad i am guessing the 10-15% SKD duty along with other misc octrois and margins the bike will definitely cross 2.5L. It might go close to 3L even.

Yes even I am getting the feeling that this will be priced close to 3L.

Trust me it will be

Let's be optimistic people !!! ( I will definetely get a good bashing if it turns out to be the opposite Oh ! Please God, let my instincts be right this time ! )

Let the bashing begin then . One of the first bikes has already been billed one of the pro-biking dealers and it is above 2.5L. So imagine what the ex-showroom price will be as this is just the dealer price. All i am waiting for is how much exactly it is going to be. My guess is just a shade below 3L.

This bike is a direct competitor and priced similar to the Hyosung Comet in the US. That was priced around 1.6 L here. And I believe that was a CKD. If that's the case, there is no reason this should be priced more than 2 L.

The Hyosung COmet was a carbed one, the Ninja in US is a carbed one. The one getting Launched in India is EU spec i.e. FI & produces 33 bhp.

I hope this clears

Btw the Comet was sold for 1.8 - 1.9 on road.

Its so funny (or unfortunate) at times that just a few thousand rupees will make so much of a difference for most if not all.
Any thing above 2.5 will just not be in reach of quite a many. And so many would push budgets and get one for themselves, if its around 2.0.

I might just go ahead and buy one even if it is higher, but i know i would be pushing it here (including some i know).
But Do we (i) really have an option?

@VKochar I like the way you think, he he he,
really hoping they price it around 2.0L
But reason says they cannot afford to launch it below 2.0L.
Anyway hopefully this will trigger YAMAHA,Honda and Suzuki into action.

Edit: What will happen if something happens to the FI kit? I bet it cannot be repaired here, hence must be expensive to maintain.
