Any thing above 2.5 will just not be in reach of quite a many. And so many would push budgets and get one for themselves, if its around 2.0.

I might just go ahead and buy one even if it is higher, but i know i would be pushing it here (including some i know).
But Do we (i) really have an option?

Forget about 2.5 L, I think 2 L itself is a huge psychological barrier. A lot of people will be turned off if it goes above 2.5 L. If they can price it around the 2 mark it'll be a huge success.

Anyways most of them are going to opt for EMIs so it does not matter to a lot of em out there to shell out some extra EMIs. 2L or 2.5L remains in the same psychological bracket and 2.5L to 3L remains the same in the same psychological bracket.

Everybody had said the same thing when the ZMA was launched, the same when the R15 was launched. And now it's deja-vu all over again. With the option of financing and the increasing no of people with disposable income i think the first lot of 200 bikes is going to get booked within no time. If a Fortuner can get booked within record time so can this.

@vkochar: Those are just speculative prices by no-name blogs except Business std. But then BS is also predicting. This info is from a PBK manager. I rest my case.

@Burnt: Times have changed. The 2010 Comet GT250R costs nearly 2.8L, almost similar to the Ninja 250R.

i called a probiking showroom today and asked for approx price of this bike, he said its going to be close to 3L.

i think anything above 2.5L is not worth.

^^ The probiking guys are speculating just like us I'm sure. The actual price looks like a well guarged secret. Else, it would have been out on forums by now.

Of the understanding i get from this as a whole is that its not just any venture for Bajaj. Its definitely something that they dont expect too much commercial success from. Going by their past, we should expect what bajaj does best. Pricing right.
Fingers crossed.

I think it would be around 3 lakhs. Anything below 2 lakhs does not make sense. If it is below 2 lakhs, I will book one without thinking twice.

It was launched with power of 29bhp. Have had the good luck to rip a tuned one though. She goes like stick once past 7k rpm.

I can manage to make my folks cough up some money if it stays around 2. Anything over 2.5 for a bike won't appeal to them at all. :P

Where is the launch taking place?

The first thing you need to do on a Ninja 250 is change out the exhaust. The stock exhaust sounds terrible and robs the little twin of too much power.

He he, @Vert1go, many of us here would like to see how the launch price sounds first and then we would like to hear the exhausts . Butttt, point noted.
