I have two cars with beige interiors and they are bloody difficult to maintain.

The driver sear also gets more dirty after servicing due to the grease on the mechanic's uniform.

My Tata service Centre specialises in getting grease stains on the driving seat of my Palio DESPITE using a plastic cover.

Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

Hey guys today i took the TD of the petrol New fiesta. Please bear with my longish post. Why petrol?, because my dad is getting a company paid car due to his promotion and the rules allow us to buy any petrol(no diesel) car below 10 lakhs ex-showroom.The car will be used as a family car on weekends and dad will be chauffeured to work from monday to friday. So we wanted a car that will have a decent back seat and space to accommodate four people with the very occasional 5th passenger.Should be powerful enough because i will be driving it after the driver goes back home at the end of the day.

Now the New fiesta was never considered due to only the lack of beige interiors, one of my dads preconditions before buying any car.I dint notify him about the fiesta because i did not want him to find fault with the car i secretly hoped to own one day but since we just finished TDing the Verna and the city and had time to kill because the Volkswagen guys as usual goofed up with our vento test drive, we decided to checkout the fiesta.I have never driven the new fiesta before, only sat as co-passenger.To cut things short, i drove it, fell in love with it and dad who was sitting in the back was mighty pleased with the comfort and space. The car is very sport to drive, with enough of power to overtake, much better than the verna 1.6 petrol!
The car was only 4k km old(shows how many people have taken TDs of a 6 month car).Found the performance on par with the city TD car which was only 1.5k km old(engine may be to young to exploit it i guess) but the new fiesta was comparable to the king of the petrols!! either the car i got was some secret turbo prototype or the Honda was a lemon or i just dont know how to drive a 100+ BHp car(driven only an old indigo 1.4 diesel, maruti 800 and my moms 1.2 figo on a regular basis)
So the underdog is competing for the top spot with the city, Verna is out and dad does not like the looks of the vento but who knows after a humble test drive??
the only place where the fiesta looses out is with the interiors, but i am exploring ways of brightening up the interiors with beige leather seats and some beige on the door pads.
Hope you all have not fallen off to sleep reading this

It was fun to read it

Why would anyone fall asleep. We are all petrolheads here!

For me, it is like- if it's my money, I would buy a Honda City (VFM car). But if it's the office's money, I'll buy Fiesta (overpriced and dreamy stuff to own). I would rather spend a few thousand bucks in making Fiesta's interiors better than to pick a boring City, Verna or Vento/Rapid.

One suggestion. Wait a bit for Fiesta automatic. When it launches and if its price is within 10 lac, TD it. I heard that its dual clutch transmission is pretty awesome.

Since it’s a petrol, my suggestion will be to with the Fiesta or the City. The Vento makes super sense in its TDI guise, but probably not so much in petrol (in comparison with the other two). Waiting for the dual-clutch AT is a good idea, but it may not fall into the less than 10 lakhs budget.

Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

Have any of the New Fiesta owners on the Forum (or your known circle) been through the 2nd service as yet?

Yes, STARCHILD has a petrol fiesta.

Mustang; Is there an exhibit/demo Ecosport, preferably in petrol ecoboost engine somewhere in Delhi, which you may be aware of? (You usually are )

No there is not and there wont be an exhibit for the ecosport in delhi unless the car launches. This is because the car and the engine were showcased at the auto expo in delhi.

If you want i can post images of the ecosport and the petrol ecoboost engine in the ecosport thread. I will get to drive the car in march/early april.

Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

I drove the Petrol Version and pretty much hated it. The Suspension is very bad as I can feel the road on even small bumps. I also noticed that it has Taller Gearing.

This car is not a City car at all. The car does not pick up at all. It feels like an Automatic. It has no Torque.

The Seats of the car were very supportive(I drove the Top of the Line Version). The Mileage may be good. The Steering felt great at first but after my Short TD, my arm was paining(I think the Steering was fighting with me).

The car's ride feels better at speeds but it takes a long time to reach there. The airconditioner was also very good.

The Brakes are Very Good.

I drove the Classic immediately and I advise everyone to buy Classic. The Classic has narrower seats but the airconditioner was better in Classic. The Suspension and Engine are much better.
