A proper brake booster should work 2-3 times even after engine is turned off before exhausting all vacuum. If it doesn't, there is a vacuum leak in the system or the check valve in vacuum pipe is not working properly.
Yes, from what my wife tells me, it stalled as she was going up the slope and had to use handbrake to prevent car from sliding back as the brake pedal went completely stiff. Then started engine and went on with her journey.

Sending car for service, shall ask them to check brake booster system.

Pictures of Brio June 2012 V MT model are attached in for reference. No glove box present, also there is hardly any space with the fuse box location.

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

Our Brio AT 2013 model is making metallic knocking sound while taking right turns. The sound comes from the left side front tyre .

I assumed it to be a worn out lower arm/tie rod but the HASS confirmed after the check up that it is the axle on both the sides which has gone bad & needs repair.

They have quoted 6.5k for repairing one side, totaling to 13k. They clearly mentioned that they will send it outside for repairs, which left me clueless.

Pls share your inputs and also suggest a competent FNG in Mumbai where I can take a second opinion.

The service advisors are adamant that this is fine. Asked them if car stalls on a slope, should you not have access to brake? They say use hand brake?!

This is my wife's car and I drive a t-jet. I don't have such issues.

Are all your car's brakes like this? Locked up when ignition is off?

No. As I said, even if the car stalls, there should be ample brake vacuum assist available for 2-3 braking actions. This is definitely not right. Even if your car has been parked for a few days, still you should have this vacuum assist available. Please get the brake vacuum hose and booster checked.

Had my car taken to another Honda ASC here. Dude calls up and says the same thing that other ASC used to say and wanted me to come and check all the cars there.

Politely asked the car to be sent back.

Shall go meet the Service manager sometime and have a word with him.
