Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

Friends,
Got my Brio after 20K service.
Cost was Rs 4450/-
Apart from usual factory recomended service, I had to check my car with Honda Diagnostic Scan, also a spark plug and throttle/AC cleaning to have a check on my strage issue with missing in low gears which I shared earlier.

Lets see if the issue reoccurs again or what.

Anybody facing this problem? Please help
Hi Friends,

Of recently I have felt a kind of missing in log gears, mainly 1st which comes very rarely. Say in a traffic signal where the accelerator pedal simply goes down without making the rpm high or moving the car forward. Anybody have any clue on this?

Regards,
SUNNY

Dear friends,

Facing the same problem of missing, kind of lack of response while lowering the accelerator pedal(no strange noise or warning lights). Once throttle is released and lowered car accelerates and behaves as normal. I am really worried, please help...

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

I own a February 2015 Brio S MT. I am pretty impressed with the car, except for one thing. While putting into the first gear, I feel like an obstuction / have difficulty. Funny thing is when the car is stationary, it shifts very smoothly. However when it is in motion and I try to put it the 1st gear, the above problem arises. Should I be worried and get it checked? Shifting between other gears is extremely smooth. This problem sometimes occurs with the second gear too, however not that often!

Dont worry, this happens as the manufacturers 'program' the gearbox in such a way as they think no one will be shifting into 1st while the car is in motion.
If there is no problem in shifting to 1st at rest, no need to worry.

Hi, pardon my ignorance, but do they program as software code? - does the gearbox have a separate ECU which controls it?

Each gear has a speed ratio. The speed should be less than 15 for 1st gear to slide easily.

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

Dear All,

My Brio SMT has completed 4500 kms. The first service was done at 1000kms and the service advisor had mentioned that the second service is due at 6000kms / 6 months.
However, I visited a different dealer - for a car wash - (a new one - 1.5 years old) and he says that the second service was due only at 10,000Kms and not at 6000!
Can anyone clarify on the same?

PS- the car wash was badly done with smudge marks all over and underbody was not cleaned. It seems like the new dealer (Perfect Honda- Trivandrum) is all talk and no do)

Thanks in advance
-Nishanth

Don't go by what any dealer says. Check the ownership manual, that's the best source of information for not only the service intervals but also what all needs to be done in a particular service.

Well, that's your answer then, no matter what any dealer says.

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

As I mentioned earlier, the User manual says that the second service is due at 10k/6M.
However, I checked the first service - manual service form, and it had that free services for Brio are at 1k, 5k and 10k!

Is it that Honda gives free service at 5k and 10k as well? I have seen the same written on a board at the service center.

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

@All,
Apologies for the confusion. I spoke with the dealer and they said it was a gaffe at their end, they confused Brio for a City which has service at 1k & 5k kms.

-Thank you!
