Thanks for the confirmation. You learn something everyday. Would be interested to understand why the higher capacity engine uses belts though.

Drive on,
Shibu.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Is the glow plug for 1.3 and 1.6 engine same?
I got the pre heating warning today morning and most probably have to change the glow plugs.

1,10,000KM. ~8.5 Years. Still shining and going strong. 1.3 engine is smooth as butter. And the turbo kick once crosses the 1900-2000 RPM is still young and energetic.

It's been running for years now without any problems.
Hello sir, where did you source the Morimotos from, may I ask? I have been searching high, and searching low; but no joy.

In the interim, I have switched to IPH bi-xenons in the fogs and 2-inch led projectors nestled behind the front grill.

Help!

Could you please share a photo of your setup and provide some feedback?

I'm considering installing IPH bi-xenons (tri-colour) for the fog lights.

I've noticed that the headlights on the Scross Zeta are quite inadequate for my night drives to my hometown in Kokan.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

So this happened today while opening the boot. Placed an order for the replacement at the nearest ASS. 1750 for the part, 1500 for painting and 200 for fitting. Wait time of one week.

150K Kms service update:

Odo @ 148500

Changed engine oil / oil filter / front and rear brake pads .
Turbo intake side pipping had some oil built up on the pipe, this was informed as a complained. This was the reason for the hurried service. I had previously mentioned I wanted to move to a 5000 km oil change interval and thus had changed oil from an FNG at 146k kms and they had overfilled the sump. I was aware of the overfill, but was unable to drain as I had familial commitments, but kept monitoring. This was how I had noticed the oil at intake side pipe of the turbo.

Intercooled was removed and cleaned with diesel, the mounting points of the intercooler and pipes thoroughly cleaned and dried. The condensor was also cleaned using compressed air when the intercooler was removed.

During the oil change, added ceratec from liquimoly. 250ml of ceratec to 2900ml of engine oil. Too early for feedback, will report after accruing some kilometers.

Further plans:
ceratec in gear oil at 160K kms gear oil change. If anyone knows why I should not add ceratec to the gear oil, let me know.

This is the third set for the car. First from factory, second was around 2019/2020 and used baleno rs pads. The third set, from today was again baleno rs pads. The rear rotors are still the ones from the factory.

The front has had the rotors replaced once.

Doesn't Liquimoli have a dedicated additive for the gearbox? I'd rather use that rather than using in the gearbox something meant to be put in engines.

Correct. They have MOS2. I would most likely use that over ceratec, though that can also be used. MOS2 is just better for the gearbox over ceratec.

My car(1.6) is currently at 148k and is due for 150k service in the next month or so. I am looking for a reliable service centre in Cochin area or Bangalore.
Where do you service your's or can you suggest some good place?
