Won't the fluid get contaminated or pick up moisture?

My entire brake fluid was replaced and now I see this. Damn pissed.

Cheers, Doc

Cracked cap. The fluid has been fine, though. May be go to some spares shops with the cap in hand and ask for it.

guess we will have to do this - may be get lucky with caps from other models. And if we do get lucky, we share.

Wiring can be taken from the middle row lamp..
I was able to pierce needle, I think there’s no sheet metal behind the roof liner.
I ordered a light set from Boodmo they have sent the front light. That’s fine as the dimensions are same. But the grey outer frame that holds it is not part of the light. Need to check how I can source the grey frame.

Ah, we simple Storme riders.

Watching this space closely, I will soon be copying you once you have successfully installed this.
Try not to get this done at the TASS, you'll find fingerprints all over the roof that won't go away easy.

cheers

1. Have you now checked below the fabric ?
2. How much have you poked ? If you use the needle along the outline where the original light should have been, does it indicate any possible holding area ?

btw, I found this one too:

Check box # 8 --> sub-part 8B (top left on the page) via the link below, and then ask Boodmo support using the part number, if they can sell only that part:

I would suggest use the new one (with reading lamps) in the middle row and swap the single led one to the last row.

Since many other newer Tata cars use the same lamp you can source it easily.
Here is one which I sourced from Tiago 2019 model. Which is same size.

Part no - 542469506305CC - 160rs
https://boodmo.com/catalog/part-beze...569.1597350186

This is the actual part required for Storme - 540869508201 (unfortunately not available on Bodmoo).

Part no for Tiago lamp in case if anyone is searching for single Led lamp
540754400115D1
Note : It is cheaper than Storme one

Most times, if price not listed then part not available.

(I am yet to check locally for part from other vehicles like I had said earlier.)

My friend in Bombay got his hugely resourceful mechanic to source an alternative cap for me. He got it yesterday and immediately couriered it to me.

I excitedly got it today morning.

Sadly it turned out to be too big ...

P.S. That's a new cap very kindly and promptly replaced by the good folk at Rudra Motors. Really appreciate this goodwill gesture of theirs.

I must say that I have NEVER understood the bad press TASS gets. 100 out of 100 times they are polite, personal, helpful, and accommodative, and even though they do make mistakes, they go out of their way to smooth the experience for the customer.

It's difficult to expect any more or fault them.for that. In any way.

I hope TATA reads this and rewards the team at Rudra Motors, Hadapsar.

Cheers, Doc

I have previously sent an appreciation mail about my SA, to the management of the dealership. The mail was read out in their daily team meetings.

Here it's both the GM Mr Vinayak Makode as well as the Service Advisors Mr Mahadev and Mr Santosh.

I will write to the Tata Motors CSM/CCM Mr Deependra.

These guys are the customer facing side of Tata Motors. They are the port of Last Hope ....

Cheers, Doc

Re: Tata Safari Storme Varicor 400 : Official Review

Does anyone have any recommendations for (front windshield) wiper blades for the Storme?

Any aftermarket ones available, like Bosch - or complete blades+frames?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Are the 21" ones better as they will clear more off the windshield? (Well, tried to strike this through...)

I now referred to the table and they just list "Tata Safari", with 24"+20"

My bad , just checked order history, it’s 24” and 19”
I guess 24” 20” should also work.
