Wheels make a car. This must be the reason why Tata changed Hexa's wheel to those flashy 19 inchers. That's Aria, right there, trying to pose in its new clothes. They should've changed the steel wheel design too.

Absolutely agreed.

Wheels make the car. They should have had those 19inchers std on the XM variant as well. Extra incremental cost is inconsequential; the street cred and feel good factor of the vehicle would have remain intact. If nothing else, they should have provided good looking wheel covers at least. As it is, the Hexa XM looks rather ordinary and utilitarian. The wow element is totally lost.

+1
Everybody who has driven the Hexa so far has no qualms over the quality of the product or it's pricing with respect to the competition. However, Tata seems to have missed a trick or two to sweeten the deal for the consumers by not providing certain features in all their variants and which in turn has given an excuse to people. Some such variant wise features:
XE: Varicor 400, enuf said!
XM: Automatic Climate Control, Cruise Control, Dynamic mode, Alloys (even 17 inch rims would have done).
XT: Push Start button, Smart key, Sunroof (can be retrofitted but at dealer level).
All these features at more or less the same pricing would have been killer.
Note - Features mentioned are a personal choice, add as per your own requirements

Congrats! You are probably the first Bhpian to get delivery.
I'm sure there are many (including yours truly) waiting to read your ownership thread with bated breath.
Happy motoring!

Actually he's the second bhpian.

Is there any news on the TUFF edition of the Hexa. Is it Available for booking. I have already booked a TD on the Hexa app but no demo car still in my city and Tata showroom is in shambles. Whereas the Toyota and Hyundai showrooms are more welcoming and upmarket. Tata has a tough task with this attitude of their dealers.

EDIT: Is it only me, or the side airbags have failed to deploy? If yes, then Tata; be ready with a justification for the same.

Ford EcoSport was involved in few accidents during initial days of its launch, it stuck my mind when I saw pictures of the crashed Hexa.

From the review, Tata has a winner on hand . These days it’s the features and pricing of the Tata vehicles which stand out from the competition, read Tiago and now Hexa.

I hope ASS won’t let the product down. Initial owners, insight on this?

Not sure if it is 3000 or 6000. Some reports at the time of launch mentioned it as 3000.

Re: Tata Hexa : Official Review

IMO Tata's sole USP might just be its Automatic Mid variant, i.e. the XMA. Because of the price advantage. The steel wheels don't look good, wish they realise that and sell it with the Alloys, even at a slightly higher cost.

No.
A vast majority of brands (including luxury brands) whose cars are reviewed by Team-BHP and other auto journalists, provide a non-alloy spare wheel during media drives.

Some people think a media drive is only a photography-session, its not so. Enthusiast / honest reviewers will know that we aren't only looking for how it looks, we're mainly looking for how it performs mechanically, or, if its interiors are ergonomically well designed etc.

So I'm being pitted against hearsay apparently from the staff who've been made to sign a statement by Tata Motors that the cars only come with 4 alloys.

Lets see.

Such "benefits" were launched post demonetisation itself. Could be inaccurate to say the discount is solely attributed to the Hexa.

Car makers deliberately keep these features for their REFRESHED versions of the car IMO.

Disagree. Because -

TATA Hexa is a body on frame UV like the Endeavour. XUV 5OO is not!

When it comes to looks, XUV is more closer to the Endeavour than the Hexa is! But that doesn't matter.
