| ![]() Hi all! A few questions: Did any new owners of the Sonet get to check out the car before it was registered in their name? Before the registration process started? Is taking a visit to the stockyard to check out the car pre-registration recommended, if possible? Also, how thorough is the PDI that Kia does? Any quality issues to be wary of? |

During my purchase, I had requested a PDI multiple times. KIA didn't budge.

Never buy a car before inspecting it once thoroughly. A dealer may try to persuade you not to do a PDI and trust their dealer level PDI but it is your duty (not right) to insist for one yourself.

If you really push for it they’ll accept, but usually the room For errors is very little. Do try to get one, but don’t end up having a sour buying experience. Best case scenario ask for a PDI pre registration at their showroom or a PDI before you sign the final set of papers pre delivery. It’ll be hard to negotiate if something’s wrong I know, but at least you’ll have a little leverage before accepting the cars officially on papers! Be a little easy going and things will certainly work out! Don’t get too worked upon things. Enjoy the purchase rather than being too worried about it. |

I was satisfied on checking it though many have told me It is a waste of time. If your dealership is ok with it, just do a round of PDI and surely you will get a sense of relief when you make your full payment. Cheers Ram

| ![]() Yes, I persuaded my SE to get the PDI done before registration and he agreed. Got to check the car from outside for any visible scratches/imperfections, engine bay, VIN confirmation and got all the electricals operated before giving a go-ahead. My dealer's stockyard was exactly behind the showroom and hence was easy for me to get the process done. A good rapport with the SE from day 1 of booking helped me in enjoying the car buying process. |

| ![]() Kia to launch the Sonet DCT & D AT in HTX variants to replace the discontinued HTK+ models. I think this was kinda expected, as their HTX variants is THE most selling variant of the line up and surely have a ‘decent’ feature list. I am expecting these to priced as, DCT: 10.99 L ex & D AT: 11.19 L ex. https://www.rushlane.com/kia-sonet-h...-12399864.html Last edited by ashvek3141 : 15th April 2021 at 10:18. |

| ![]() Dear all, I have booked Sonet HTX+ DCT (Red). Waiting period is apprx 5 weeks. Please suggest me on the following - 1. Other than 7D mats and rain/door wiser, what else I would need in the name of accessories ? 2. For exterior - what's the best practical treatment (not too expensive) ? 3. Tire upgrade - really required for Sonet ? 4. PDI - I will do the PDI as per the list that we all have but is it really possible to take a test drive of the allotted car before delivery ? I think it is just too much to ask for. 5. DCT Heating - This is all over internet. Has anyone here in TBHP faced this issue in reality ? if yes then what was the driving conditions like ? I have talked to someone in NCR who drives in traffic jam 2-3 times per week (2 hours for 14 kms). He hasn't faced heating issue till now. However, those bars showing the temperature of transmission raise by 2 nos (from 4 numbers to 6 numbers in 2 hour traffic jam). It remains at 4 in a long highway run. 6. Any other suggestion ? Thanks in advance Noopster1008 |

In most cases, it is not possible. I have taken two deliveries in the last couple of years without doing a test drive. I got the requisite comfort seeing that the odometer readings in both cases were below 20 kms. The stockyards in both cases were not conducive for test drive, simply because of lack of spaces. I would not worry about this aspect too much, provided that the other parameters and conditions in the checklist are met. |

| ![]() I took delivery of my HTX imt during February. When I asked the SE for a PDI, he said a thorough PDI has been done at factory, but I if I still want it again, I can come (I could sense the reluctance in his tone). I too felt, there not much that you can you gauge about your vehicle, except for the external appearance, which anyway they would have taken care. Saw the car only on the day of delivery, spotless, fixed with all accessories. Regards the accessories, they dealer will push for 4D(!) mats, silver garnishing, window visors, etc. I had taken the very basic accessories, 3D mats ( which fit perfectly into the floor), Mud gaurds, Bumper protection at the four corners (but, later I could see, the car's shape is such that, it cannot be really protected at the relevant places) Window visors (thinking it may be a protection in rain, and also I saw it didn't spoil the look of the car), said NO to the multiple silver/ plastic garnishings (they seemed to make the car too flashy). |

| ![]() [quote=noopster1008;5043952] 6. Any other suggestion ? /QUOTE] Accessory: The black plastic frame around the number plate, is useful and looks good. The HTX+ comes with alloy wheels, I don't see any further modification to it, unless you want to change the tyre brand. |
