Understood. They may have plugged the wires into the existing wiring harness. Not sure how secure this connection is. Whenever you get some time, I suggest you take a look at the connection and make sure that it is solid.

For my car, I am planning to make a custom wiring harness that will connect the vehicle's wiring harness on one side and the fog projector on the other side. Similarly, for tapping the high beam too, I will add an intermediate harness between the vehicle's wiring harness and the headlights and do the high beam tapping from this intermediate harness. I will share details of this when I get the installation completed.

Also, the stock fog lights are of such a poor quality when compared to the build of Aozoom.

Hello Slushmaster!

Thanks for the review! Could you post some night pics for the benefit of everyone!

Thanks in advance,
Powertrain

Hello Graaja!

Looking forward for details of your wiring harness! When are you planning to get the installation done?!

I'm planning to upgrade my foglights with Aozoom & will appreciate your inputs.
Also some night time pics if possible.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Powertrain,
First off, my sincerest apologies for keeping you waiting an entire year! If patience is a virtue, you’ve got it in spades. 😅
But finally,I have made the video showcasing the Aozoom dual-beam projectors in action.

Now, a quick heads-up: while the video gives a fair idea of the beam pattern and spread, cameras tend to underplay the true intensity of these lights. Cameras adjust exposure to avoid overexposing bright areas, which makes powerful lights appear dimmer than they are in reality. Trust me, these projectors light up the road like it’s daytime.
All in all, I’ve had zero regrets about the 17k investment. Let me know what you think after watching the video, and I promise not to ghost you for another year if you have more questions! 😉
Cheers,
Arun

Adding to what Graaja plans to do.
The intermediate harness: Stedi Australia sells this harness. A T-Harness to tap into the high beam for a signal/shutter voltage.

https://www.stedi.com.au/toyota-fort...k-adapter.html

Alternatively, you can use a fuse tap and insert it into the high beam fuse in the engine bay fuse box.
Another Bhpian has done it in his fortuner 2017 and it’s good. Just have to make a nice grommet for where the wire of the fuse tap comes out of the fuse box.

After closely examining the plug, there is a small narrow canal behind the seal that allows water to flow out. But the material is such that dirt accumulates there. Which is causing closure of the already narrow channel.

New checkpoint for my weekly car wash.
Thanks for sharing.

The model was FLP 2030 white. I think I paid around 17k including the installation.

Dec 2024 -Toyota Fortuner car wash experience

I normally wash the car myself but if I needed a more thorough wash then I take it to the service center hoping they will do a good job.

I requested them two specific things along with the water wash.

1. Top up the Ad-blue
2. Give the engine a good clean as it's dirty from long trips.

Here is my experience with both the things.

Water-wash:
--------------
They applied some kinda wax after the wash as they always do and it was so visible. It was on the glass, front windshield etc,. I pointed that but didn't make a fuss about it as I was frankly tired of their service level attitude. They also did not clean the engine compartment like I requested. Again a blow to Indian Toyota's Service attitude. If it was one-time issue then I wouldn't have bothered much. But few services are okish and few goods and then out of no-where a really bad service.

Ad-blue:
---------
I did not notice the ad-blue spill(attached picture) in the service center when I opened the engine.

But something was bothering me when I drove my car straight to my home. So after a sleep I went and opened the hood and there it was.

Ad-blue spilled.

I complained to Toyota and finally they sent someone to clean it.

Final thoughts:
----------------

I saw the poster "We are better than local garages. Our quality is much higher than your local service garages" picture in the service centers reception earlier today.

Fair, that they sent some to fix it. But why claim that above slogan if you can't deliver the service every time? This is not my first time, second time or even third time I am facing issues like this with Toyota's service.

What happened to their pride process mechanism?

I don't know whether it's just me hitting some bad luck or whether any one else is having a similar issue. Perhaps they are not what they seem to be.

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

Hello Everyone,

Planning to get Fortuner's OEM fog lamps changed to Aozoom projectors, and requesting your valueable feedback on below:
- is it legal to change the fog lamp assembly if it's a coupler to coupler fitting?
- which of the two models from Aozoom is better - FLP2030 or FLP2040?
- any reliable contacts in Noida?
Thanks so much in advance!

Regards,
Revvman

From where did you procure them finally. I am searching for one.

Hello Rev,

- Simple answer- No, it's not legal even if it's a coupler to coupler fitment. Any accessory is illegal unless endorsed on the RC card.

- FLP2040 is newer Bi-Led setup. It has a dedicated high beam spot light. 2030 is older which has a single lens. You'll have to route a wire from Fortuner headlamp assembly to activate high beams on the foglamps in both 2030 & 2040.

- Check Aozoom Instagram page. Lots of videos uploaded by Noida accessory shops.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Powertrain

Hello Rev,
Of course, it can be challaned. But I say the chances are very less. Unless the cop suspects or if your luck runs out

The 2" ones looks very discreet! And the advantages of increased visibility far outweighs the chances of getting caught!

Not worth going to the ASC for these jobs.

1. Keep cans of AdBlue at your home. Top it up yourself - it is a very simple DIY, all you need is a 1 lit plastic tumbler and a plastic funnel.

2. Get it done at any good FNG or detailer's.

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

Did anyone install a dual channel dashcam ?. I have a dual channel 70mai dashcam. I want to use the 12v socket as the back to power the dashcam. Routing the wire is bit of a concern. Another option is to hard-wire it.
