Is i20 N Line Manual a good car you would recommend over Venue Turbo Manual?

Re: Hyundai i20 N Line Review

@pepega

For the 10,000kms service I faced the same issues and they made me sign the same piece of paper which I reluctantly signed. I did make a little bit of a fuss saying their alignment isn’t ok, but they kept the piece of paper in my face. Much to my discomfort, I eventually signed it.

Interestingly, one of the few things I told them was that they never told me that I would loose my warranty if I didn’t do wheel alignment with them but they held out & I eventually signed it.

I’m inching close to 20,000kms (since June 23) and thinking I’ll visit the North Goa outlet & see what they do & react in the same situation.

Do check your Bluelink app, somewhere in there it shows that wheel alignment was not done during last service & is overdue.

Safe travels

Re: Hyundai i20 N Line Review

Has anyone here felt “brake fade” when traveling during afternoon time (read when the heat is at its worst), I’ve been noticing the pedal becoming a bit unresponsive to lighter touches but overreacting to heavy inputs.

Has this happened to anyone or am I being too critical of the car being a previous Polo Gt Tsi owner?

Re: Hyundai i20 N Line Review

Hello everyone.

After a long wait of exactly 2 months from booking to delivery, I took delivery of my N8 MT yesterday, ie on 1st May.

Interestingly I had driven only the DCT before (even for the TD) and the first time I drove the manual was when I drove it off after delivery. Initial impressions are that this 6 speed MT is ALMOST, akin to a short shifter. The throws are short & precise, I am quite liking it.

I hope to put up ownership updates on this thread - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/hatch...ml#post5750021 (First new car for a young professional & his parents)

Re: Hyundai i20 N Line Review

I am planning to buy i20 n8 as my first car. Only automatic version was available with the dealership for test drive. Just a day before making booking manual version, I came across an article about new i20 facelift in European markets with multi color ambient lighting and bigger 17" alloys with minor cosmetic changes while powertrain remains the same. Will this facelift model be launched in India in coming months? News articles do mention India launch but don’t mention when.

Re: Hyundai i20 N Line Review

Is this a good upgrade to an Elite i20 CRDi? I have been thinking of selling my second hand i20 and getting this first hand.

I am leaning towards getting a manual, so does anyone have any experience with a manual variant of this?

Clickbait article. This is an unlikely launch here as the refresh model was launched just recently.

Hi Sarg,
I got my manual just a week back. The gears are well gated and the throws are short, also turbo lag is better contained than in the DCT. The clutch too is light.

Awesome. Though I wished the test drive car were also a manual so that I could get a feel first hand.

I first got to drive the manual when I was driving my own car post delivery
Was not able to find a manual for TD, everyone seems to have only the DCT.

The 3-pot turbo-charged engine on the i20 N Line is very different to the CRDi. You will have to keep the car above 2000 RPM to get the engine to sing and keep you happy. But then, you will guzzle a lot of gas. In the DCT, you can do so by putting the car in Sport mode where the gearbox holds to higher revs. In the Manual, you would do so yourself. But the end result with mostly be the same and cost you fuel efficiency.

I also use XP95 fuel all the time, and if you are using XP95, I would think that an Octane booster would be redundant. Also, the STP Octane booster in a lab test has been shown to increase octane by only 0.2-0.5 points (0.6RON Improvement). That is a marginal improvement. The better ones like Nulon and Amsoil are difficult to find here in India.

It may help to have a bottle around for the times when you can't find an Indian Oil station that has XP95 - like when traveling.

I do use the STP Petrol Injector Cleaner every few thousand km.

Happy motoring.

My thoughts exactly. I use XP95 regularly and find that to be more than sufficient.

What about STP Petrol Injector Cleaner additives? Should we use these every so often to keep the injectors clean?
