As I’ve been surfing through the threads, I’m worried about the parts availability in the future as this is an outgoing CKD unit. Usually, my dad sends the car to the service station with a driver, so if we are to expect any haggles with the after-sales (Bangalore/ Mysore) over parts sourcing, as it’s from Germany on order, would be very inconvenient. Please shed some light on this . (Thank you for your insights on your cars in the previous posts)
My experience with the Tiguan: regular parts are easily available though more complicated parts do take a little bit of time to organize.
Routine servicing, etc. hasn't been an issue but we faced a dsg issue which requires 2-4 weeks for parts to come and be installed.
If it makes you feel better - hyundai owners have had to wait weeks for parts for tucson too and I've had to wait for some random parts from bmw as well. The only company that has quick turnaround for ckd parts so far is Mercedes.
If this is a deal breaker then best to stick to cars with engines selling in 1000+/month or an Indian company (though tata/mahindra have their fair share of niggles as well).
If you have a second car for such moments - a little inconvenience once every few years is worth the ownership pleasure every day.

Hi guys, is the sportline variant of the Kodiaq still on sale? The one with the black trim parts and sporty seats.

No. Only few units of L&K are available at the moment at select dealers only.

Most of the cars under the VAG umbrella have shared parts so getting replacements won't be an issue unless its a major part that needs to shipped directly from Germany (waiting time would be the only setback). The Kodiaq is great value for money and you will thoroughly enjoy it

Listen to Make Us Stronger from Ghost Rider - at atleast 50% of the volume & if you can, go for 100% volume for sometime - you will be blown away by this Canton system.

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

Hello folks - windshield got a small crack. I guess from a small stone somewhere. Attaching a pic I took.

What would the cost of replacement?

Will this be covered in Škoda Warranty?

Will this be covered by Insurance?

Thanks

Its covered by insurance if you had taken the right one. one have to wait if the part is not available locally, it might take 15 days. Time for replacement is atleast 2 days.

Actual labour for replacement is under 30 mins - I had once replaced my front windshield ( while I was in the US - a stone chip crack that propagated with heated defrost during winter) - I had contacted a doorstep service- one guy with his pickup truck came with the new windshield to my home and completed the job in 20 mins flat. Job quality was top notch too - no air leakage or whistling sounds afterwards.

Have bought extra intake air filter to be replaced at 5500 KMs from now.

Experience went smooth at Brite Skoda.

Though, when asked for DSG fluids replacement, got answered it's at 120K KMs. To me, it should be at 60K KMs looking at Indian stop & go conditions.

Question on V Belt and Spark Plugs - are these recommended replacement interval by Skoda? ( Asking as I have never replaced these before 1L KM in my Honda Civic)

Smart choice about spare air filter for replacement halfway the recommended interval, given the dusty conditions in India

Also, how does the Kodiaq feel after the service and replacement of all fluids?

These are recommended at 60K KMs in Kodiaq TSI - they were done now as they were part of SMP @ 4th service. If they hadn't done now, I would have to pay out for them at 60K KMs. It's 4th service or 60K KMs - whichever is earlier.

It's smoother & engine noise is less. Though, accelerations are more or less same & adequate.

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

Thank you all for your inputs. Really helped a lot.
Asked around showrooms in Bangalore and the current Kodiaq is sold out :( indeed. And moreover my dad wasn’t very inclined on an outgoing model. We’ve put a pause on the search till the new Kodiaq launches, and hopefully the new one lives up to the expectations! My dad has taken a liking towards the XUV7OO too apparently.
I’ve been seeing reviews of the new Kodiaq off shores and it looks very attractive, could pass off for a BMW, especially in terms of interior. What do you guys think will be the expected price on the Sportline variant that’s been spied here?
Also, I really hope they give the option of the brown interior trim on the Sportline here, since it’s available only in black trim offshores.

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

So, finally we took delivery of our Lava Blue Kodiaq last week. This is a beautiful car - the form, the lines and the creases of the car make you want to look at it again and again, and the Lava Blue color just accentuates its beauty. Coming from an XUV500, this turned out to be a good upgrade for me.

Some questions for other fellow buyers:

- I dont see the ventilated seats being very effective. Is it the same for everyone else as well?
- ParkAssist almost always identifies a reverse-perpendicular parking slot as a parallel parking slot. Is there a way to tell the system to look out for a specific type of parking slot only?
- I got 2 years SMP complimentary with the purchase. I wanted to buy the SMP for 3rd and 4th year but the service centre is telling me that the 2 year complimentary SMP works in a different way from the 4 year paid SMP in couple of ways. First, the 2 year SMP covers only the 2nd and 3rd year service and not the 1st and 2nd year service. Why this is important is because the 3rd service is supposed to be a minor one, so it doesnt really help that it is covered in the SMP whereas the first service is not. Secondly, some of the parts that are to be replaced are not covered in the 2-year complimentary SMP, whereas in the 4 year paid SMP, the first 4 years are covered completely (parts are included as well). This costs ~80K. Please let me know if I should ignore the 2 year complimentary SMP and instead buy the 4-year SMP for Rs 80K.

- Finally, is there any Skoda Kodiaq Owner's group on Watsapp or some other platform, where we can share/discuss about our cars?

Here's a recent pic.
