From https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...0-74-lakh.html

The Jimny Thunder Edition comes equipped with several accessories as standard. These include a front skid plate, side door cladding, door visor, door sill guard, grip cover, floor mats and exterior graphics. The car also gets a silver garnish on the front bumper, ORVMs, fenders and bonnet

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Thunder edition to sell all the tacky bits & bobs nobody wants, the price correction is likely here to stay. It's such a classy looking, clean design, and most of the visual 'enhancements' are eyesores.

If I was buying one, I'd take the (most likely dealer installed) 'enhancements' in a takeaway box and put it on the giveaway thread.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

I just paid around INR 1,200/km.
I got my Zeta AT last friday night. Drove for 100 kms, parked it and went outstation. Still to return back. I still dont have license plate or RC.
Feels bad.

I feel they are going to discontinue Jimny post this clearance sale or go back to old prices with only alpha variants made to order like the gypsy.

As stated earlier, price cuts will get those on the edge to buy sooner- it wont get maruti customers to switch from other cars. Jimny has limuted use cases- which won't change with price cuts.
Sales number would be interesting study from an educational point of view

With the Zeta AT being close to 2L cheaper than the Alpha AT, does it still make Alpha a better proposition for the additional features it offers.

Maruti has habit of manufacturing cars with inferior grade structure for the consumers of their largest market - India.

I fear that they might have 'Indianized' the Jimney as well by replacing the key structural components in the body and chassis. since we do not have any effective laws here which ensure selling of well constructed safer vehicles, they may be planning to keep the better version for exports and sell the inferior versions here,

So maybe you do not have the reason to feel bad if my speculation of downgrading the structural components turns out true.

I am not claiming anything here, this is just my speculation.

Unparalleled buzz is what Maruti created in January this year and led us to believe that if we don't buy it then, we'd probably have to wait another year to get our hands on it.
Now, they are again talking of generating 'unparalleled buzz'. Hope this time there will be no disinformation campaign !

I believe these are the key differentiators.
1. Bigger Screen
2. Climate Control
3. Alloys
4. Green tint windows
5. 6 airbags
6. Headlamp washers
7. Cruise control

The really useful ones out of these are;
1. Climate Control
2. Green Tint Windows
3. 6 Airbags
4. Headlamp Washers
5. Cruise Control

If I buy this vehicle, I will gladly buy 5 of those Steel Wheels from the Zeta and sell off the Alloys.

But heck, this price off is really very tempting.

I guess 6 airbags are standard on both variants.

Apart from the above, they have retractable OVRM. The relay for which costs around 2k.

Will the above justify the 2L difference considering it can rather be spent on performance updates and some cosmetic updates. I will be purchasing a roof rack for sure. Plus sound dampening material.

It is indeed. To make it worse I was at Nexa workshop for the n+1 iteration of Maruti trying to fix wheel alignment when this message popped up. It is not fixed completely yet with the steering still not centered. They are still adamant about not doing sensor reset and infact suggesting that I drive like that. Unfortuantely, price cut means that I can’t even sell this and forget as a bad dream.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Fence sitting guys, with so much happening with the Jimny price cut, in just six/eight months or so of launch, and if sales still dwindle, expect MS to offer a 4×2 well under 9/10 lac.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Completed 600 km yesterday from Goa to Bangalore, giving 13.5kmpl and a running time of around 9 hours, and an average speed of 70kmph.

Car is planted at highway speeds, nothing to complain about at 100-120kmph. It certainly won't be as good as sedans but it'll prove a lot more easy on potholes (which we still have on Indian highways!)

From the Airbnb:

On the road somewhere:

I'm starting to dream about an overlanding trip covering all (or most) Indian states. Spent a lot of time yesterday thinking about the route I'd want to take, and camping equipment I'd like to take along, and so on. Maybe it'll materialize soon, who knows? Fingers crossed.

Regards,
Pepega

Do oil changes according to the manual. The factory filled oil especially contains several metal additives that will coat your engine so should be left in till the specified mileage and time to change it.

I am not sure what additives the fresh oil I added will have, but I assume they're identical to the oil that was in the brand new car.

The video I shared earlier shows that the Toyota 0W16 and 0W8 oils have identical additive packages as well. Refer to this point in the video:

I have yet to see any evidence that an early oil change can be harmful. I am happy to read anything evidence you might be able to share to the contrary.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Sorry to ask in case this has already been posted.
What is the Water Wading Capacity of Jimny?
And would anyone here have authentic information on the same for the Gypsy?
Purely academic query.
