Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Just to add to the price cut details- The reduction is from the 'on road' price and not on the 'ex showroom' price. Road taxes still remain the same is what the NEXA folks told me.

The thunder edition gets the price cut from the ex showroom.

The price cut from the on road price is offered by dealers for the stock currently in yard. They are trying to hard sell. We should be able to get a bigger bargain from the current stock.

I have a feeling the expected competitor from Toyota is somewhere close to being released. Suzuki maybe getting rid of current stock.

What is the Water Wading Capacity of Jimny?
And would anyone here have authentic information on the same for the Gypsy?
Purely academic query.

I understand that stock supports 300 mm

Unfortunately, Bangalore dealers are still insisting that road tax remains same. Discount is applied on the previous on-road price. See that chat response from Nexa

Sales advisor also tell that Jimny has height adjustable driver seat
Dealer don't decide the road tax, ex showroom price does. Now MS has officially reduced the ex showroom prices, there is no doubt that applicable road tax will also come down.
Another example: those who booked XUV700 and got price protection, the prices had increased when the deliveries started but since the ex showroom was less (introductory price), the road tax was also less

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Maruti Suzuki has ruled out the possibility of a cheaper, two-wheel-drive (2WD) variant of the Jimny SUV.

Quote:
According to Shashank Srivastava, senior executive director, Sales and Marketing, Maruti Suzuki India, “While we have received feedback from several customers asking for a 2WD variant of the Jimny, it will go against the Jimny’s core brand ethos.”
Quote:
Globally, Jimny is an off-roader, and it will be a dilution to the brand if we introduce a two-wheel drive variant. Therefore, a 2WD Jimny is not in active consideration, and we will continue to sell the 4WD version,”

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Just to clear the confusion. The Jimny does not get a price cut. It is simply a discount of 2 lakh/1 lakh that is being offered on the existing ex showroom prices for this month. Along with that, an additional accessories kit worth ~25k is being offered complementary which makes the vehicle a “Thunder Edition”. This is similar to discounts that keep changing every month on all models.

RTO tax remains a grey area, since it is beyond anyone’s control.

I would say at this price point the Zeta variant is brilliant value, particularly if you consider prices of premium hatch segment vehicles these days.

Just got my User manual of the Jimny printed by my printer friend. Posting a few pics. This is more like it!

Absolutely. I am trekker myself having done over 300 treks in my life till date. I own a Jimny and purchased it only to safeguard my travels to remote places and assure my mind a peace offered by ladder frame SUV. The roads to reach the base of a mountain are usually broken or at times are non-existent. But I usually stop a km or so earlier anyway (although Jimny can go further ahead) just to enjoy the walk to the base and then the actual climb to the top of the mountain. Nothing beats exploring nature around us on foot!

.
Hi all, I called up the Maruti Suzuki helpline to get clarity on this topic. From them, I have got information that the ex-showroom price of a couple of variants that I was interested in are:

Zeta AT Thunder Edition: 11.94 lakhs
Alpha AT Thunder Edition: 13.89 lakhs (single tone)

This is also the same info at Carwale, where the Thunder Editions are shown as distinct variants with their own prices, matching those provided to me by the Maruti helpline.
