No I didn't check. I guess your theory is correct, as I didn't get any warnings throughout the drive, except when my wife sitting at the back wasn't wearing her seatbelt. They must've disabled all the ADAS features. The SA mentioned no such thing though.

ADAS is disabled for all test drive cars, even seltos I test drove had it disabled.

Agree, even in Safari it is the same issue

Showrooms disable all ADAS features and parking sensors from cars equipped with ADAS. This is based on my experience test driving the cars with ADAS.

Did you check the front parking sensors were enabled (switch highlighted in yellow box in snap below) in the test drive car?

First thing I did test driving new gen cars is ask if ADAS is disabled or not.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I checked out both the Thar Roxx and Scorpio N. Found the under thigh support in Roxx inadequate compared to Scorpio N, although did not do a test drive of either of the 2 vehicles. I am 5.8’.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

This video says that Mahindra will be giving a black interior option as well. Has anyone else heard of this possibility?

Also, if we can have a poll of what colors people are looking to book! I like the Red but when I see the Black, feels like it will age better. Not a fan of white, but its the 3rd preference. I don't mind that hump over the rear door so that's not a reason for liking black. I have a gray Ecosport but always loved how the Red one looks even now. Aged really well. Not sure of Mahindra.

They will HAVE to. That's the no. 1 feedback they are receiving from left, right, and all directions. I hope (and believe) they will soon provide other interior colors (Black/Brown) in it, maybe just in a few months after launch.

Spot on pricing I'd say, neither too aggressive nor too greedy. Will sell well.

I own the exact same variant - Petrol 4x4 AT CT. Not even in my dreams would I sell this gem of a jeep. While the Roxx has its charm and convenience of 4 doors, bigger boot, etc., nothing comes close to a SWB 2-door 4x4 jeep, convertible top being cherry on the cake.

My recommendation would be to NOT trade it in for the Roxx unless your use case specifically demands 4-door practicality with the jeep form factor.

For this specific use case, you would be better off with the (2-door) Thar.

While I agree that the 4x4/petrol combination is a big miss from Mahindra, I highly appreciate the fact that they have retained MT as an option for purists, in a world that is rapidly moving to ATs. Not having a diesel engine option would be harakiri in my opinion

With the on-road price nearing 28 lakhs, I also considered the Tata Safari. I test drove the top variant in the golden color Automatic Variant.

The Safari is massive and harder to maneuver compared to the Thar Roxx. While the steering and feel are better than the Seltos, it doesn’t quite match the Thar in ease of use and weight. However, it feels far more premium, both inside and out.

The ride quality is superior, though some engine noise does seep in. The gearbox is suited for a relaxed driving style, but the automatic felt odd due to the button placement—it’s something that might take a bit of getting used to.

The sound system is excellent!

Overall, I really liked the Safari, but the Thar Roxx still stands out in terms of engine refinement and maneuverability.

I test drove the Safari alone, but I need to show it to my family as well.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Went again to see the Thar Roxx in another Dealer but I guess Mahindra Dealer approach to Customers is least interested and rude.

Untill you get someone whom you know their behaviour is super casual and rude.

If Sierra is going to come in August 2025 I think it would be worth the wait, but at the same time all news seems fo have died out around it, as news stated it will come with 4x4 option.

Coming back to Roxx, those white interiors are something which is not digestible. Not a single Thar I have seen is smudge free.

My Wife said you can handle seats but how will we handle the roof.

What I feel is Mahindra will create an issue and then bring in a variant which is priced higher to solve the issue.

Legroom was okay, headroom in a bit but for someone my size, thighs was supported but then it could be a sorepoint for others.
I'm sure I saw a larger glove box on this car, either in person or in a video. The speaker wasn't there. Here I see it's taken up half the room for the glove box. Does anyone know which models have the larger glove box?

Looking at how eager Mr. Anand Mahindra is to respond on Twitter/X posts, I recommend everyone with an account should tweet him to do so ASAP!
A white interior is the ONLY thing stopping me from booking one. Ok, maybe the wife as well

But ultimately, the engine noise in the Seltos was a dealbreaker for me, making me lean more toward the Thar ROXX, despite being aware of its own limitations.
Windshield distortion on a seltos has been a topic of a thread on this forum, and the battle to have it replaced. Search this forum to read more about it

It's AX7L, one that comes with Harman Kardon music system has speakers in door making space for bigger glove box.

Flipside to it is no space for water bottle in door pocket .

Quite right. Who knows, maybe the wait would bring a more reliable machine, with a darker shade of interior!

The golden color is available only on top Accomplished and Accomplished+ variants of Safari. Accomplished AT costs ₹24.89 lakh and Accomplished+ AT costs ₹26.39 lakh ex-showroom. You may be able to get Adventure+ AT variant at about ₹28 lakh on-road price. Adventure+ variant will give you good 360 degree camera but will not have ventilated seats and ADAS features. Safari is longer than Roxx, so take a test drive on route you are familiar with during traffic and off peak hours before deciding that longer car will not be an issue for your driving needs.
The lighter steering of Roxx make it easy to drive and length is also perfect for city driving needs.
