Do keep in mind that a bigger diameter tire will result in reduction of torque/ power delivery at the wheel. You will also have to slip the clutch more than usual to get the car moving and you'll also notice that the gear ratios have effectively become taller.

This is something that I have noticed which is rarely mentioned in the forum. In fact, I'm going back to stock size at the next instance.

A slight correction is warranted. There is drop in performance at high speeds where the engine has to rev more to put out the same speeds as with stock tyres. However, the mileage has increased considerably. The combined average is 18kmpl.

I would highly recommend the tyres for anyone facing gc issues and mainly drive at speeds below 90-100 kmh.

Issue:

Now that the polo has once again become my daily drive I am trying to sort out minor niggles which were earlier ignored.

The issue I am facing is of a squeaky clutch which gets hard with continuous driving. During my only trip to the mountains the car was giving out a harsh metallic sound on releasing the clutch while climbing slopes at slow speeds, basically when there was clutch slip under load.

Could the two be related? What is the solution?

Thanks.

Hello, There is a slight dent on a bonnet + bumper(s) damage in my Polo after a minor incident last week . I am planning to use my insurance coverage (zero dep), just wondering how long these kinds of work (number of days) typically take at VW Bangalore or VW Palace Cross or any service centers in TN? My current insurance service provider doesn't have a cashless option with VW service centers. I do not want to get the work done at a multi-brand garage.

The damages are on the bonnet (just above the place the logo sits), bumper and number plate.

Thank you in advance.

Post a picture? I'd still suggest a good paint shop rather than VW.

VW after-sales service seems to be outlet dependent, but I have been extremely happy with the accident/painting work done by my usual dealer. It comes at the same price as my independent garage too.

6RF-951-223B(High Tone)
6RF-951-221B(Low Tone)
Is this the OEM horn of Polo/Vento?

Does anyone know of a reliable service centre in Hyderabad for a 2015 Polo. I'm currently in Chennai, and German tech is well regarded here for Volkswagen service, but it's nearly 70 km from my place. It's difficult to give the car for service and then get it back. I'll anyway be going to Hyderabad this month end, so I thought I could get the service done there.

In Chennai... I have always been happy with the Whites Road guys, for service and body work. If you want to go independent, there is Ignite, down south, who are very decent people.

I think there's a guy in Ambattur too, who specialises in VAG, but that's very far from me and I haven't investigated.

Thank you. Ignite is on ECR? That's a little manageable for me. It's probably the same distance as the VW service centre on OMR but I'm looking for a good independent garage now that the car crossed 5 years and 1 lac km.

Yes, just before the junction with the Sholinganallur road. Raghav is a good man: got into the business purely because of passion for cars and engines.

Folks, need a suggestion from you guys, I am sure I am at the right thread.

I am currently in the market for a used Polo (Petrol) - for my wifey. It will be her first independent car and we are therefore in the need for a good solid & reliable car (for her daily commute of about 20km overall). As you might have guessed by now, I am clearly not keen to fall for the usual Koreans & Suzuki's. Driven a Figo TDCI for 5 years ,owning a Jazz IDTEC for last 5 years which is doing excellent. Polo will therefore be an additional car for us.

Currently I came across a Polo Petrol 1.2 Highline (2016 model, 43000 km in ODO):
1) what do you guys think I should pay for it max? Is >4L price worth it?
2) Any known issues of 1.2 Polo which I should be prepared for?
3) Howz the service network in Kolkata, will the service cost go thru the roof? Reading thru the forums, it doesn't seem so.
4) Many people around me are advising against an used VW - as expected. So I am a bit tensed to justify my decision & therefore looking for you guys inputs.
