That engine bay looks so clean and half empty.

Is that cap on left end for radiator because I don't see the radiator cap at the expected place? If not then what is it?

that is a closed type radiator with the degassing tank - the degassing tank is located on the left hand side of the engine bay (facing the car) - the closed type radiator came in S1s AFAIK along with electric fan. (i have got hold of a NOS closed type radiator ready to be plonked in my car - just waiting for the right time)

the tappet cover is BLING - love the engine bay this car is gorgeous.

Wow, as always, this car of yours stuns one and all- that is one remarkably clean engine bay! I regret to say that so far Ive never maintained such a clean engine bay on any of my cars! :(

One question though- why is the comm. no. plate missing (on the RH side corner of the car, above the steering box)? Was it taken off just for the painting?

It was taken off for painting and is in my locker at home. I guess I am too lazy to fit it now. The car is in a closed garage in Nasik and I am not taking it out at all due to rains. I will take it out only in November. As you will observe, I have the chrome wiper arms and blades but still to be fitted. I will do shortly. Thanks for the same though.

I am trying to post images of the engine compartment of my BLL4919 which will blow you over but it is not uploading due to high memory. What should I do? Please guide.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

Closed type radiators had no filler duct on the main radiator. It had a Seperate Degassing tank.

Here is the Closed type Radiator. As you see, there is no Filler.

This is the Standard Degassing tank.

Cyrus, Behram,

I saw the Autocar show featuring your car and a 1 sec clip with Behram sir's photo last week. Felt like kicking the presenter in his backside.

The one show that really gives credit to vintage and classic cars IMO is "All about my car honey" on NDTV Goodtimes hosted by Gautam Sen. the other mag that I've seen doing justice to these beauties is BSMotoring.

My compliments on your MRY car. Its in absolute showroom condition.

Dear Ravi / Karl - you will be pleasently surprised to know that I have a Raleigh Humber bicycle of 1960 lying at home. It has the Sturmey Archer 3 speed gears and a hub dynamo. My father purchased it for me for Rs450 from a Parsi airline pilot in 1972. It is now in dismantled condition though. Of course now it belongs to me, Cyrus and Darayus. It will never be sold.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar
