Pics, Finally!

Finally, me and Cyrus managed to get some decent pics of the car. The interiors are not yet completely done. So, the focus is only on the exteriors.

Hope this clears all doubts about the look of the car. If anybody asks me, the car looks really great especially with those white turn indicators.

Sit back and enjoy!

Ooooooh Cyroo !! She looks completely awesome man, I'm floored ! Super paint job, super trim, yes the white indicators are terrific. The Engine bay looks like it's just off the production line !
I'm going to come there and see her closely, mate ! Did make a chakkar past your house last evening, (just in case !) but she wasn't there.

SUPERB! Love the color and the details, but i found some missing bit also :P

a) Battery clamp needs painting or i guess a new one is on the way
b) Degassing tank overflow pipe needs some rubber tubing

On a serious note, wanted to know why cross ply is preferred over radials, Mr Dhabhar if you could throw some light into this please.

Hey Cyrus,

Congrats for your new ride. It looks good and seems its going to be put for everyday use .
Its heartwarming to see Behram's sweat & toil giving a new life.
The icing on the cake is the way Cyrus & Darayus is written on the car.
So where is the all important ride ?

Dear Salil Pawar - thank you for the pictures.

Dear Jaggu - you are correct, the battery clamp is going to be changed soon. Also the degassing tank overflow pipe is not connected because my shopkeeper ran out of pipe (I purchased whatever he had and used everything for fuel pipe work). Abhi to bahut kaam baaki hai. Read on.

Further pending work is as follows (I wish I know when it will ever end):
Complete rollcage cover to be stitched and fitted with foam inserts
Flasher has shorted out, to be replaced
Parallel engine cutoff system to be fitted (for safe cranking without spark)
Steering wheel and horn button to be replaced
Headlights and bulbs to be replaced, these are the old ones having very bad focus and no beam intensity, these are temporarily fitted (I want Lucas TVS, I am not getting)
Headlight rings to be replaced (these are not original)
WIAA badges (square and winged type) to be fitted on the grille or arrangement to be made for mounting them on the driving light mounting brackets
Gear lever pivot bush to be replaced (noisy due to excess play)
Brake and clutch pedal rubbers to be fitted
New rear shock absorbers to be fitted
New leaf spring bushes are fitted, so rear suspension needs to be realigned for stabilizer bar orientation and then complete wheel alignment to be done again as caster angle has reduced so steering feel is a little vague now
Rear mudflap mounting holes made in the wheelwells to be blocked
4 point harness seat belts to be fitted
Complete contactbreakerless ignition system will be tried on BLB1144 and if found OK on performance and reliability, then to be fitted
Air cleaner bottom support to be fabricated and fitted
Air cleaner element to be replaced
Fiat delite bumpers recently obtained to be polished, hard chrome plated and fitted with original guards
Wheel rims to be replaced (will use super select wheel rims to match the bumpers)
New wiper arms and blades to be fitted
Alternator mounting bracket to be replaced (this one is slightly misaligned)
"FIAT1100D" monogram to be fitted on the glovebox lid
Engine oil, oil filter, transmission oil and axle oil to be replaced
Final drive ratio to be changed from 3.9:1 to 4.3:1
Battery to be replaced (this one does not have good reserve capacity)

Whew ! Anything else that you guys can think of ? Please let me know.

THEN, HOPEFULLY I WILL USE IT !!!!!!

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

@Cyrus, Behram sir, the car looks awesome now. All the hard work u put into this car shines through. I guess the dullness of the earlier pix was due to the bad cam. The side trims and the white indicators have made a world of a difference to it! Just my suggestions: Why dont u put the 1100D badge in the rear itself?? It'll add to the period look. Also, if possible, pls change the black wheelrims, While it looks great with a light colour, on a dark colour, its not so. But this is just my personal view on this ok?

Wow thats great final drive being changed to 4.3.
Which means that the car will takeoff like the one we saw at the pump on Mumbai - Pune expressway. (Remember)

Delightful Lhd Fiat

GOOD job Behram and Cyrus, your efforts are showing.

Since you are asking us to remind you of anything else that is pending, please remember to change the present PADMINI side pattis to aluminium DELITE type.
Also try for the aluminium Tail lights and rear number plate lights.
Hard to find, but not impossible for you.
Then your LHD is a perfect DELITE and very DELIGHTFUL to own.

Dear President - I had fitted delite pattis only but they did not provide support at the extreme ends due to absence of bends at these locations so it was of no use, it would just come off. I don't want to drill on the body after paint and in any case lack of support would persist. So I removed them and fitted Padmini pattis. I have one original aluminium number plate light with me (the Italian one from maulana) but I cannot fit it till I find the other one. I have not really searched for the taillights but now that you say so, let me see if I can find them. There is still around 2 weeks of work left, then it again goes for a final coat of polish.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

get rid of that steel rim. the black rim do not match with the body color. either fit a hub or a black alloy. then its going to look good.
