CONGRATS. I really admire your patience. And your wife/kids/family's.

To wait 20 months for just starting such a project - Hats off!

Thank you, need to finish some unfinished work

1) 2 door pads pending
2) Wiring to be done, with UPS
3) Brakes
4) Side Canopy for camping

Once all this is done, the BUS will be off to one trip without further delay

fantastic work till now. The best part actually is the narration.I just bumped into this thread and saw there where 19 pages. didn't realize that 19 pages would explain the complete WIP. I have a workshop of mine in Hebbal and would've been more than glad to help you out had I seen this thread long time ago .
Now that I've caught up with the progress please let me know if you need any assistance from my side.

OT but i found this tricked out Microbus while surfing.

Tricked out VW Micro Bus – The Chameleon
The VW Electronics Research Lab has converted a 1964 Type 2 micro-bus into my dream nerd mobile. I’m a huge fan of this vehicle dubbed The Chameleon by its creators. The modifications they’ve made include switching out the drive train for an all electric system. The surfboards on the roof act as a solar array and the traditional speedometer has been replaced by a circular screen for navigation and media. The system uses Google Earth’s 3D satellite imagery for navigation! It also has a biometric palm scanner (where the gas cap would normally be) for keyless entry. The bumper even has a little screen so you can talk smack to driver behind you! I love this thing.

Congratz! No one can understand the real feeling of an old engine firing up after such a long gap! Unless experienced!

Have a great journey with the bus!

Cheers

Hey Pavan , great work and perseverance. Congratulations

I would love to see the bus in action on Bangalore roads , but thinking again , dont really want to see such a beauty on the beastly roads of Bangalore.

Great work and keep up the good job and start more restorations so that we office goers can also dream with you guiding.

The Bus will sure make itself on Bangy roads and some State Highways soon, i am more of a practical person. I use my classics like any other daily use cars

Buddy, me too goes to office regularly, Restorations are just a part of my undying passion and obsession with Automobiles For me there's no HIGH than giving life to a dying Classic/Vintage.
