Hi Behram, thanks for your input. Being from the manufacturing industry, your view has all the credence.

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

Spotted this Mark 2 at a tinker's yesterday; looked in good nick to me.
Also, on my recent visit to the local scrap yard here in Mysore, I saw a decent looking Mark 2 front grill. If anyone here needs one, do let me know.

Here is an advertisement, believed to be from the 1950s. Notice the ex-showroom price

This is 1984 model. I suppose, because I had a KBE 1963 Amby bought second hand in January 1990 for Rs 38K which was later sold in March 1993 for Rs 55 K. That was the first car bought with my money. I too miss it.

I had posted above that the Mark II, MYO 2169, looked to be in a good nick. And, as if to prove me right, here it was, parked at the top of Chamundi Hill, Mysore! The owner/driver was cleaning the car and I managed to sneak a couple of pics.

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

A bad one seen at Ernakulam Civil Station premises. Perhaps one belonging to some GoK department.

A rare Station wagon from 1970/71 (redone with new grille etc) clicked by Mr Souryadeep Mukherjee at Kolkata.

Pray tell me- Which person will convert a Landmaster Traveller- into an Amby? And take it to Cartier shows in that avataar?
I guess so- yes, it is authentic. Being present at the Cartier show, will make it quite authentic, won't it? More can be followed on the Cartier thread. Attaching a few pics:

Now- you can't really expect a brochure to lie, can you? IIRC- The Bhandari's in Poona had a Morris Traveller- similar to this. In cream/off white. Or perhaps it was an Amby/Landmaster(?)

More can be followed on the Cartier thread, and here: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/post-w...ers-india.html

The Hindustan Traveller in the first picture indeed is a Landmaster based one.

The logo on the bonnet suggests otherwise. And since this car has attended a Cartier event- I guess, it is authentic.
