If you say you have gone to Goa in your Fiat, once my car is restored i plan to tour whole India with parents in 297.

First of all, I bought Alto for using daily for college, which was 16kms away from my house. So daily i used to drive 40+ kms! My Alto gives 16kmpl. I would be doomed if I use a Fiat for such distances considering the mileage and reliability.

And, yeah... My Fiat-297(dad's) is too very close to me. I just can't live without it. I want it to be A+ condition through out my life!

I will use my other Fiat 331, more regularly than my Dad's Fiat.
Was only trying to make you guys feel jealous!

But its not a permanent solution. I still have to park 1 or 2 cars on the streets. This is definitely not good for old cars on longer run.

Four of my cars are parked outside on the road and 3 are parked in the basement parking...I have no choice too.
Thinking of renting a garage to store my cars and bikes.

Getting a car is easy. Getting parking space for the same is a nightmare.

Anyways pure pun intended here, no hard feelings!
Here the floor shift tranny car owner speaks.. Actually, Daily driving in a Fiat is not possible taking in consideration the weather here. To top it up sir its not Bangalore its Lucknow and the traffic rules are hardly followed by anyone. So getting scratches and dents on car is a common parlance here. And as Arun bhai rightly said for his car, S1 is my father's car so i don't like any type of damage to it.
Parking problem: who doesn't have it. I park my car on road and still i am willing to purchase a old Fiat probably dukkar or 1100D which would be parked on the road face to face with the S1. the parking problem cannot overcome my desire and passion to own my dream machines.

Sagar and Arun, I was just pulling your leg the other time. I definitely know what your family car's mean to you. Absolute passion this for Fiats. I wonder how many Fiats we would have owned and saved if each one of us had huge parking space.

I wish we will not regret after some years when there will be very fiats left in India just because of the parking space. 10k is what it takes to own a fiat. The rate of scrapping of these models have got up at a fast pace. Many people are junking their cars instead of selling it. This probably is promoted by the exchange schemes which new car dealers offer. They buy fiats for Rs.8000+2000 as exchange bonus and scrap it. I myself had this experience when i went to purchase Alto. One guy was exchanging his father's President model with a new Wagonr. Guess all the papers were still there and only fitness was not done for the past 8 yrs.
When i told of mine, he insisted to even get mine exchanged. I just walked out from there pretending i have to call somebody.
