Found a distributor in chennai, price quoted at Rs 2500/-, need to get them once approved.

Carb, got a nice repro solex side draught carb, working on the manifold right now, by weekend will be ready.

Dynamo = Altering a present generation Alternator, will look like stock once done

About the engine condition when got.

Excellent progress. The paint job looks nice.

Tires? What about tires? Do you plan to mount the originals? Or a classic-looking set of alloys? I personally think the car should have a wee bit thicker tires than the original.

Will wait to see what you do ... great job so far!

I personally think he should put the original size. Going for radials is also alright but putting alloys would spoil the originality of the car. But no doubt it would look nice.

The engine is now complete and ready to go into the car.

Few things needed urgently.

1) Intake manifold
2) Distributor

Work at office and my Auditor kept me too busy for whole of this month

Effectively from today, its time to kick start all the restorations that has gone in a back burner.

Got the Fastback out , made the workshop guys clean it up a bit, got them to do the handbrake and the rear brake.

Engine is 90% done ,with the elusive intake manifold which just arrived from a donor vehicle, The distributor also came from Chennai. RH engine shield is the only thing thats missing, will find that too in a couple of days.

The elusive engine shield is holding the project from going any further.

Every thing is done, we just need to fire the engine, and get the electrician to check the entire wiring.

Later its left to the upholsterer to finish.

Hope i find them soon.

Muttanna........! Saaar, please keep all the parts of that engine you have, dont dismantle that 1600 engine Boss, i will put that engine together for you someday.

Ordered all the engine shrouds, and the original intake manifolds, should come anytime.

By this weekend, we are certain to start the engine.

This has been the worst ever delay in completing a car, i am sad......!

Loads of Old but original spares for the Variant just arrived today

8 months since the project took off, there is no way you can fasten the restoration process, i've tried it all, but i am still happy, since i am the quickest of the lot.

So, its time now to start the work all over again.

Keep watching this space for futher updates.
