Mumbai-Pune Expressway. May not be all that exciting, but still easily the best road in the country. I have done the 94 km stretch in 50 mts many times in my Santro, an average of 113 kmph. But for the toll gates and ghat section, the avg. could easily exceed 125 kmph.

Hmmm, even if there isnt, there may be, and at an *average* of 180, the magnitude will be scary.

I'd say the most enjoyable road i've been on is the Bombay - Goa Road Rode down for new year and plan to again. Hopefully with a better bike

But the smoothest roads in my experience are in navi mumbai and the mumbai pune Expressway

MUMBAI-Pune Highway roxx....i m not a high speed freak n blievs in controlled driving.....i had a wonderful experience driving at 150 Kmps consistently...
About Karwar-Margoa road and also the karwar road frm Belgaum...though they r gd but they hav heavy traffic of Trucks of iron ore and manganese..n if you are going in monsoon season better be cautious..coz sometimes there r chances of car fleeting...moreover ...karwar pune is no way comparable as the best of roads...

Pune- Bangalore...is 1 of the upcoming Highways...but sum patches of it are still under contruction...due 2 technical slag...so itz better we judge that after its complete...

Mumbai-Ahmedabad Higway....is one of the best Highway...it was a coool experience.....its well set from point of view of safety...there r endless radiums indicator and signboards at regular interval...

But so far...i find Mumbai-Pune ahead 1 step ahead of all roadz..so i vote 4 tht....

For me it's NH 17...the Bombay- Goa stretch. The lat time I drove on this stretch was a delight with flowing corners, sharp turns and few straights...a drivers delight

Palm beach road

I only have to drive out of my garage and am on that 8 kms stretch of good road.

And NH17 anytime, the longest stretch of variety scenics. Wonderful to drive post monsoon.

I have never been on a better road in india than the Mumbai - Pune Expressway, my only reason to go to lonavla and pune is for the road... where i can really step down my accelerator on the top most gear without any worry of the traffic !! Damn awesome !!
Other than that for a really short distance.. for anyone living in mumbai will be the bandra reclamation road (Within Mumbai limits)...
Cheers,
Ollie !
