Yes correct! In GMaps, if you put the directions for Madhugiri, this route is automatically suggested. Please follow the same.

Re: On Bypassing Bangalore

Hi team, over last few years I have always been using the ORR for crossing Bangalore from Hebbal to Hosur. But after driving down from Hyderabad, it is such a frustrating experience to crawl through this route with broken roads, narrow lanes thanks to the lane dividers placed between the bus lane and car lane and all the metro/flyover construction that is just going on and on and on. But after going through last few pages of this thread it seems cutting straight across the city seems to be a better option!
What do you guys suggest ?
Will be going again this Sunday. Should I take the ORR or go through the city?
Thanks.

Metro construction going on throughout ORR. You are better off through city if you want a peaceful drive. If time is your constraint, then rely on gmap to estimate the time at that time of the day and choose the one you want.

Re: On Bypassing Bangalore

Hi. Will be travelling from Kochi to Mumbai in February. Based on the last couple of drives to Bangalore and Goa, in the last few months, we have always reached the Electronic City Elevated Road Junction by around 12 to 12.30pm with a 3.30 am to 4 am start from Kochi.

The target is to drive all the way upto Hubli and stop for the night.

Assuming a 12 to 12.30 pm arrival in at Electronic City on a Sunday would it be advisable to take the Nice Road or to travel thru the city.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated along with a good lunch stop around 1.30 - 2pm

In my opinion, if you can afford the toll it is always advisable to take NICE Road to connect from Hosur road to Tumkur road irrespective of the time of day or day of week.

Re: On Bypassing Bangalore

I had travelled last week from Hyderabad to Coimbatore and back.
Devanahalli - Sullibele - Hoskote the road is not in good shape lots of undulations and pot holes and added to that four laning work is also going on.

Hoskote - Chikkatirupathi - Alambadi gate
This stretch is also not in good condition.

Alambadi gate to Hosur
Road is in good condition.

On the way Back took the route Hosur - Malur - Hoskote
Hosur- Malur is in good condition
Malur - Hoskote is average but it is a four lane road with one diversion.

From Hoskote took the route on Old Madras road upto the Decathalon and took the right turn to Budigere and Devanahalli
I am familiar with this route. This route is better then Devanahalli - Sullibele - Hoskote.
Hoskote toll plaza toll has to be paid that is only problem.

Good to know. In 2021, when we were travelling Hosur to KGF, the stretch after Bagalur was terrible. Returning via Venkatagirikota Krishnagiri was faster.

Many many years back, took Devanahalli-Vijayapura-H Cross-Kolar and joined NH4. Why isn't the Devanahalli-Kolar-Mulbagal-VKota-Krishnagiri an option?

You might consider Shoolagiri-Berigai-Masti-Malur instead of Hosur-Malur.

Kolar is way off.

You will be better of by KIAB Airport-Budhigere-Hoskote-Malur-Masti-Berigai-Shoolagiri-Krishnagiri.

This way you will by pass the devanhalli toll , Pay at Hoskote & bye pass the always crowded Attibele toll.

Another option can be:

Hosur-Baglur-Malur-Hoskote-Siddlagatta-Chikkaballapur.

However, some sections need to be validated for their wellbeing! (Route link)

Re: On Bypassing Bangalore

I am travelling from Hyderabad to Ooty on 17th May and would like to know which road to take from Bangalore to Mysore :
a) Nandi X Road to Doddaballapura to Nelamangala Town to Bellur X on Mangalore Highway to Srirangapatna to Mysore OR
b) Hebbal Flyover to Yeswanthpur to Nice Road to Mysore Expressway to Mysore.
I will be at Bangalore Airport around 1130 hrs.
Please advise which is a better road in terms of traffic flow.
Thanks

At 11:30am, you better consider the Hebbal Yeshwantpur option.

The other route via Nandi cross - Doddaballapura - Nelamangala makes sense only during peak hours of morning and evening. Also, Nelamangala to Doddaballapura road is not fully done and work is in progress at many sections, although there is certainly am improvement over the last few months.
