Generally Airtel doesn't allow customers to downgrade to a cheaper plan.

649 plan is not even mentioned on Airtel website.

Indeed, there is no mention of this plan on their site, just tell them that you are looking at options outside Airtel, they will agree to change the plan to the cheapest one.

650/- + taxes was what I paid when I was staying in HSR. I moved to Koramangala this month and Airtel said that they cannot offer the same plan, I had to pick 700/- plan + taxes, roughly comes to the same speed of 2mbps with 6GB data limit, post the limit at 512kbps.

So far the ACT service has been excellent. They installed my connection on weekend in the evening. Activation was immediate. They handle complaints on Sundays too. In case their service is down, they send the SMS notifying the outage. So far looks excellent, which is unthinkable either with BSNL or airtel.

Currently I'm using Alliance Broadband which offers peering service. I'm paying 620/- p.m. with unlimited usage at a bandwidth of 700Kbps and peering at 20Mbps.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I recently switched to Airtel Rs 1299.00 PM broadband scheme. 15GB a month @ 4Mbps, 512 Kbps post 15 GB. Comes bundled with 1000 minutes talk time, so got rid of the BSNL land line.

So far so good. Will wait for a few months till ACT comes to my area and then decide if I want to stick with Airtel.

Airtel recently changed their plans in Bangalore - I was earlier paying 1399 + tax for 60GB, 8 Mbps now it's come down to 1099.

I have heard really good things about Hathway.. Some terrific plans there, unfortunately not in my area, else would have shifted. Q

I'm paying the old 1399 rate (Bangalore). How did you switch? Did they do it automatically, or did you call? Thanks!

I actually checked on their website and called them. They were sheepish in telling me that the reduction has happened just 2 days back - I could figure out that they were trying to lie.

My change has happened atleast a week back.

Been with Hathway since three years and their service has gone to dogs over the period at least in my area. Thinking of shifting to Delta/BBNL.

After eight years in Bangalore, I have finally got a broadband connection!

Opted for ACT 1049 plan, paid up 6 months advance, got free installation and one month free usage. Cost me ₹7072 after taxes, approximately ₹1010 per month is quite reasonable for 30Mbps 50GB limit.

There seems to be a new entrant to this race. Railtel. Supposed to be fibre and plans seems reasonable too, at least for folks who don't get ACT in Chennai. My friend was offered this in Kelly's and if good and available in Anna Nagar, will give it a shot.

Thank you sir, I called today and got it changed. Same everything at Rs. 410 off! They asked how I knew; I said a friend told me about it. I do check their site from time to time; but missed this change. Thanks a million!

Thanks for the information. I also switched to this plan with immediate effect.

Earlier I was paying 1149 for 30GB, 2 Mbps.
