Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Does anyone use the Reliance WiPod in Bombay.

They are offering unlimited with no FUP at 999 at upto 14.7 Mbps.

Is it reliable? Is it fast?

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Using Asianet Dataline at Kochi - 50Mbps, 8-10ms ping at Rs.1820 per month(including taxes). There is a usage limit of 40Gb per month after which it costs extra per Mb, but I dont have that much usage so really enjoying their speed. The speed remains consistent in the range of 45-50mbps all the time and there is very little connection drop like a few minutes a day which is un-noticeable. Only problem is that their customer support sucks big time but that I can live with at this speed and connection reliability

Have BSNL Wimax connection too at 900 per month for unlimited; but speeds are pathetic and connection loses every now and then and has a really bad ping, so not using it for anything.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I get a call from Idea, explaining the 'spectacular' new offers in 3G sim plans. I ask why are they calling after 4 years of taking the connection. He said they just launched some good offers. No answer to my question "so you didn't have good offers all these 4 years?". Airtel 4G is launching here soon, competition is good

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Most places in Bombay have internet wiring built in flats for MTNL. In my parents house however, during renovation, this was totally worked over and now this connection does not exist. Does MTNL do other kinds of wiring in such cases for internet - does anyone have an idea about this?

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

BSNL has today redefined the minimum broadband speed in their plans to 2 Mbps. This means that the user will get minimum of 2 MBps once FUP limit is exhausted (this was earlier 512kbps).

Really hope others specially Airtel follow the suite.

Where did you find this news item? Would this apply for my ULD Combo 845 plan?

I got the same news on internet today.
http://www.business-standard.com/art...0700449_1.html

But no idea if this is already applied to all BSNL circles or not. I have same ULD Combo 845 plan and it really slow compare to other provider.
Didn't receive any communication from BSNL yet on the speed upgrade.

But it’s a welcome move from BSNL but they are still far behind than providers.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

The cheapest BSNL broadband unlimited plan is 545/- per month @512 kbps. Does this news mean unlimited usage @2mbps for 545/- from Oct 1 ?

http://bsnl.in/opencms/bsnl/BSNL/ser...ess_speed.html

Do the other UL plans like 795/- cease to exist ?
