The second model for the year was delivered today. A long awaited dream to own a F40 was realised.













Was pleasantly surprised when I read "Made in Bangladesh" on the carton. I am yet to take it out of the base, will post more pictures once done.

I ended my search for a 1:24 model of the facelifted L494 Range Rover Sport. Finally bought a pre facelift diecast model in white made by Welly. Quality seems a bit questionable though. I may have to glue the parts together some day.

The details of the interior is better than I expected.

This one joined the collection as my daughter likes the car.

Ferrari 488 Pista in 1/24 scale from Bburago.

Some few new additions procured via Miniature Toy Shop - online - based in Ranchi. They arrived today very well packed and all in a nice carton.

1. Lancia Delta HF Integrale - 1:64 Limited Edition in Red by Tarmac Works- what a beautiful 1980’s shape!

2. Porsche 911 RSR in Martini Livery - 1:64 No 909 by Schuco - Tarmac Works

3. Porsche 911 LM in Martini Livery - 1:64 No 50 by Schuco - Tarmac Works

4. Ferrari 250 GTO in Gulf Livery - 1:64 by Mini Dream.

5. A lovely Renault 5 Turbo by Tarmac Works in 1:64 which sadly arrived in broken condition with one wheel off. Rough handling by the courier. The pedestal screws may have been loose. (The owner of the store has promised a replacement. I just have to send the broken car back.)

1:18 Mercedes-Benz E190 (W201) Evo II – DTM – 1992 – #18 Driver : K Thim

In 1992, Danish driver Kurt Thiim competed in his seventh season in the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters - German Touring Car Championship). He drove a Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evolution 2 for the Zakspeed Team with Roland Asch as team member. He finished as runner up that year and having won the first two races of the season in his car.

The replacement for the one received in broken condition arrived today.

1. Renault 5 Turbo. 1:64 Red. Tarmac Works.
2. Lancia Delta HF Integrale 1:64 Dark Blue. Tarmac Works.


Now awaiting one more Lancia Delta in a brilliant Yellow…

Aditya Menon the Founder is a great guy. He did invite me for this but Im out of town on those days. The BeanTown Collectors are a bunch of nice chaps.

This week am in UAE and today being free in the early evening I was wandering around the Mall near my Hotel. And found some nice cars. Yes they are more toys than real ‘scale models’ but I liked them so I bought them.

I prefer not to be a ‘scale model snob’ - so I collect all sizes but mostly 1:43, 1:24, 1:32 and 1:64 and 1:72 and 1:87 - basically if a little car looks good and is relatively rare and is finished reasonably well, that’s fine by me.

Some new additions from my side in the recent past. The Solidos were added almost 6 months back and I hate the quality of those. The Maisto GT3 is surprisingly decent.

I was waiting for this. Just reached home to find this Lancia HF Integrale 1:64By Tarmac Works in Giallo Ginestra. A lovely bright Yellow.

Merc GLE in 1/24 scale. Not the greatest in terms of being a true scaled version, but not too bad.

When in Singapore do pay a visit to Unusual 43..Its a candy shop for scale model collectors. I have purchased three different 1:18 scale models from them till date, which were all hand carried to India by a friend and finally visited their physical store for the first time today.

Being my first visit to the store couldn’t go back empty handed and I am out of storage space for the 1:18 scale models back at home so bought a few unique 1:64 models..

Mini GT seems to have aced the stakes on tasteful tiny scale models. 1:64.
