That track looks amazing, huge and fun. It is well maintaned as well and moreover it is in India (kind of unbelievable).
Would anyone know the logistics of using the the track? Is there a membership or something?

Thanks Robin! I think membership is a good idea for the future of the Hobby. Atleast it will not get sold for some lucrative real estate deal
Also heard that they are going to organize another event around October. Hopefully I will have my RC by then.

Remote Possibilities RC Track is almost ready within Silver Sands resort on ECR, Chennai. Onroad track is ready and offroad track is the completion stage. Onroad should take upto 1/10 scale and offroad upto 1/8 scale (maybe 1/5 scale too).

Will check it out and post some pics soon. They are planning some membership schemes. Owner is a good friend and his father is a veteran aeromodeller.

Another offroad track, helipad and runway is coming up shortly. Will give details when ready.

The runway was tested last weekend. All good now. Need to get some jet guys to scramble..
The fastest speed I heard was a 426kms/hr on the Sholavaram airspace. The offroad track work is on.

The ECR track will be fully ready by this weekend as per owner. I am planning to head out either on Saturday or Sunday. Will need to give owner at least an hour's notice. His offroad vehicles are down for service. Onroad cars available for rent. Let me know if anyone wants to join.

No events planned yet. Already put that idea with the owner. Cost will keep off transponders for now. A fast set of fingers will do the job.

Hi.

My Fiancee has bought a RC car for me in Greece (I dont know which one). She will be bringing it in the Check in Bag.

Will there be any problem with Customs if a remote control car is bought from Greece? Also, is it safe to put the box in the check in bag? Your suggestions will be very helpful.

There shouldn't be any problem with the customs. A friend got mine from US. Its better to carry the box as hand baggage as many a times checked-in baggage is roughly handled. Some airlines however may not allow it to be carried in as cabin baggage, then you can stick a "fragile" sticker on the box and get it checked-in.

Mavericks are very popular in Europe. Saw a few reviews on their 1/10 scales on rcuniverse a few weeks back.

You may need to get the spares from UK since its not common in Asia. Modelsport UK is a good dealer to try for Maverick spares.

I have got few stuff from them. Very good service. Shipping to India is costly so got it delivered locally to my uncle.

@mail4ajo, thanks for the input.

I am not into professional racing. This is my first remote control car. I will be using it to enjoy my time at house, probably at an outdoor place as well.

All I will be doing is just playing around with it (even though I am 25 years old). So do I still need to spend on spares and other things?
