@mura - Based on what i saw on track last week they seemed pretty unreliable. Servo failures, suspension and wheels coming off after a single jump etc. But maybe they were just a bad bunch. Do let us know how your TT is holding up.

Truggies like the 8ight are amazing machines but i would start with a monster truck and then move on to one of them.

I don't have a Thunder Tiger Model.

I do have the 8ight, and will get the New 8ight 2.0 Race Roller in a week.

My friend in Singapore has just got one and he says it is the Best and the most aggressive handling 1/8 offroad platform today.

BTW he owns the Singapore Turf city Track.

Feels like i am back to square one. Tough call between truck and truggy.
Will order (on instincts) in a couple of days and then we will take it up from there. One thing is for sure, it will be one of all the models advised by you guys.

I just happened to see your questions over the past few days. I have a number of RC cars including the Baja and the Savage XL. The King Motor clone is a good option if you are on a budget. i owned one until I sold it and will soon get a KM clone SS kit to assemble. Even with the real HPI Baja, a number of parts will break and you will need to upgrade to after market ones. true its not as much fun bashing as the savage or any other nitro truck can be, but you will love the convinience of the BAja with its petrol engine and a great design. its built pretty tough, even the Km clone is pretty good. Its great value for money at 25K or so. spend another 25-30 K on upgrades and it will be as good as any baja can be. The radio is crap but original HPI supplied radio is not much either. The engine is absolutely the same as the unit in the original HPI. The whhels on the clone look better than the HPI ones which will tear in the first few tanks and you will need new ones.

Go for a Baja clone if you are on a budget...I would even if I was not. Though not recommnded for a begnner, you will get adjusted very quickly as it will soon be an addiction. Warning- you will need large open spaces to run it and a fat wallet for spares! Have fun ...PM me if you need any help

Hi all RC devotees,
For those who don’t know me, I am a newbie to this hobby getting some help from our members.
I just wanted to share with you guys that, as a beginner while I am doing a lot of forum reading and video watching, I came across a series of videos done by someone called “Squirrelod” on youtube. He is constantly doing new videos (informative/tutorial) on RCs. It is great help for me as a beginner but I bet it will also be helpful for the pro guys. Recently he did a video on water proofing the electric stuff and demonstrated the installation of a 3rd channel failsafe etc.

I know many similar videos can be found but since he is currently doing a series of “1/5 scale” videos he is offering a discount code for DDM. He has reached 8 of 11 videos planned. You can search for “1/5th scale series Part 1/11” on youtube and the first result should be it.

Will soon need help regarding radios. Speak then.
Note: Please do not post with formatting. Also do not copy from external word processors as it interferes with the text formatting.

I have always watched Squirrels and Chris Chianelli's video. Chris was the undisputed big daddy of RC till he passed away earlier this year. He had a very simple way of explaining things coupled with a great sense of humour. Check out his newbie videos specifically created for Megatech RC.

You can also try Alishan mao's videos on youtube or redcatracing's support webpage. They are perfect for newbies.
