2) Which route should be preferred? appreciate inputs from fellow bhpians who've done this trip.
3)Do the toll gates along the route are fastag enabled?
4) Approx. expenditure of whole trip including Fuel.
With the other considerations of vehicle condition, personal health and time availability on the favourable side, I would recommend you to take the drive, since you are relocating.

I second these points. Personally would recommend around 550-650 kms per day and reach on the 5th day. It would be a leisurely drive.

This is the shortest route. The diversity of the country can be seen on this route, as you would be passing thru cosmpolitan dwellings, rural and desolate areas. But nothing to worry. Do-able with family. I did the Hyderabad - Delhi section two years back while I drove down from Vizag to Delhi in 2018.

All tolls are Fastag enabled as discussed in various threads here itself.

Now if you plan 550-650Kms per day, there will be 4 halts. In this route (the Central corridor) to Kerala, deciding on the first stop from Delhi is the key which one can realise if you work backwards from Kochi. I would recommend Gwalior, then Nagpur, Hyderabad, Bangalore / Hosur and then Kochi.

Abby92, I am counting on your trip for some inputs. I am planning a to & fro drive to Kerala in Jun 20. Please do update with details of your drive on its completion.

Now if you have a rethink on the driving down option considering the present situation in the country, I have an input. I have recently (two months back) transported my old DZire to Kerala through a known transporter based in Gurgaon. This is a dedicated car carrier service (JSR Transporters). He charged 24K (from Delhi to Kottayam). I can put in a word on your behalf if you so desire. With him, I had peace of mind and delivery at Kerala took place on the indicated date.

I appreciate your enthusiasm and its definitely incited some amount of confidence in me.

From what i've read/seen in various travelouges, Delhi-Udaipur-Pune-Cbtr seems to be preferred one regardless being a lengthy route.

Re: Whats the Best way to transport a car or bike?

Hey Guys,

I am from Ghaziabad but was residing in Mumbai, I am stuck in Delhi and with the lease of my Mumbai Apartment running out, I have to transport all my Stuff and my Himalayan back to Ghaziabad. Looking at the current situation, I cannot ask anyone to go to the Railways and get it transported, and either way I don't believe in Railways, also I can't go down to get my bike. So all that said, is there any option to move my stuff and bike back to Ghaziabad. Any mover that you guys'll recommend for hassle free shipping.

Thanks

To answer my own question here and for anyone looking for future reference
I used Leo Packers and Movers
https://leopackersandmovers.com/

They charged me 9K for door to door delivery during peak lock down as compared to 14K quoted by APML (Which they backed out of 2 days before they were supposed to come)

The contact person - Krutik (Mumbai) or Abhay Shah (MD - +91 80880 01122) were very professional and courteous
The bike suffered no damage or scratches apart from a turn indicator that was promptly fixed by FeviKwik, It took them around a week to deliver the bike and the packing was also done very professionally. The only con I can think of is that they didn't have a tracking dashboard so you have to make a call everyday to get the location of your product.

Anyone looking to get their stuff transferred, they might be helpful.
(Don't open their website on firefox, use chrome)

Need Car Transport Suggestions

Hey,

I need to transport my car (Swift 2019) from Bengaluru, Karnataka to Kothamangalam, Kerala. I wanted to know if there were any trusted and reliable car transport services available that BHPians would recommend.

PS: Admins, I am new to the forum. Please move this thread to the appropriate section if needed.

Re: Need Car Transport Suggestions

I am not be able to give any suggestions about the transporters, but why not just drive it down? It's around 600 km?

2019 make is a fairly new car and I wouldn't trust any transporter to deliver it scratch free.

You surely might have your own strong reasons for not driving it down though.
I once drove down my father in law's car from Barabanki, UP to Silvasa, Daman because I had no faith in any transporter.

If you are not in a position to drive it yourselves, Why not give a try dropping a message in your friends circle whatsapp group asking for anyone looking for a transport to head to native and can do it in your car. I have seen this mode working for several people who were at native but their car was in Bangalore. They easily got these "drivers" to transport it.

Re: Need Car Transport Suggestions

I would prefer to drive it down and i have a family member willing to come in another car which we can use to return immediately. Just unsure of the quarantine rules and i can't stay there for 14 days. I am looking into the business travel provision. Any tips on this would be great!

Re: Whats the Best way to transport a car or bike?

Hello everyone, I am sharing my experience with DRS Group- Agarwal Packers (https://www.agarwalpackers.in/) recently. My Grand i10 had to be shipped from Raipur to Coimbatore. It took them 30 days to do so and with a lot malpractices. I am listing them down with my suggestions.

Name: logo.png
Views: 2641
Size: 13.7 KB

1. The car's dashcam wiring was removed to prevent recording.

2. The odometer plug was disconnected to not show any milege on the MID. I was shocked to see the odometer not working when I took delivery. All other guages like the Fuel and rpm were working fine. On questioning the person in Coimbatore, he went on to press a electrical connector near the gearbox region and it started working. So, clearly they have intentionally tampered to prevent showing the reading.

3. They had tried to remove the Fasttag and finally settled to cover it with something. I could see cellotape residue around the Fasttag and visible damage.

Being a modern car, I thought it was a difficult job to tamper with the odometer, but I realised I was very wrong. Now, I cant really find out how many kilometers the car was driven. I had received fasttag alerts from a couple of tolls along the way near Hyderabad. The fuel level has reduced a little bit however that can't be an indicator since they would have refuelled.

The staff attitude goes for a flip once the payment is done. So, may be it is a good idea to fill a decent amount of fuel and seal the fuel lid with a tamper-proof material that will indicate any unjustified driving.

30 days to bring a vehicle is a lot but I do give them leeway due to lockdown. I am only concerned about the other unprofessional tampering I have mentioned thay is beyond explanation form their side. Next time, I will try to get a little more smarter than blindly trusting them.

(Mods Note : Reposting my content from Packers and Movers thread. I feel the post belongs to both the threads as it gives an awareness based on personal experience)

Re: Whats the Best way to transport a car or bike?

Hello folks, I have a Honda City SV AT in Navi Mumbai which needs to be transported to Bangalore. Any recommendations on which could be the best transporter for the same?
Seeing the reviews of Agarwal Packers & Movers, I am getting quite skeptical about them.

Re: Whats the Best way to transport a car or bike?

Sharing my experience on transporting a car from Delhi to Bangalore. This is from 2017 - sharing now as I had lost some data on this!

To ensure safe and risk free (or minimum!) transport, I first checked with Mahindra's own shippers and the shipper they suggested (through reference of Koncept) was an unheard and unknown transporter based way out of Gurgaon. See pictures attached. Apart from the unsatisfactory location and condition of the place - open area, no security, no process/procedures on taking receipt of car, no one with authority or anything was there despite the fact that I had called. I abandoned the vendor and ultimately settled for Agarwal Movers and Packers (APML) having moved substantial furniture through them couple of times.
The charged 34,000/-, inclusive of insurance and taxes. They were thorough in receipt and documentation. At that time, I had a car tracker on - one of those GPS monitor devices. The car was taken from my house in South Delhi to way beyond Gurgaon, their transport facility. The battery was disconnected in 2 days and I couldn't tell where my car was.
However, there was no update on the shipment - and there was none for a good two weeks. I made calls to APML and Mahindra and even tagged Mahindra on Facebook and nothing happened. Emails to chairman's office and trying his number also yielded no result!
Finally after three weeks, they responded and the car started from Gurgaon and reached me after about four weeks. Although I planned to receive the car by the time I flew down to Bangalore - as I needed it more in Bangalore than Delhi, APML took their own sweet time. Obviously there was no fee waiver/ compensation or anything. Although car itself was fine - condition was horrible - see pics.
My advice to anyone transporting car long distance - if you can, just drive it down. Packers are unreliable, unsafe and not trustworthy. It's not like luggage where there seems to be more professionalism. After 2017, I've driven from Delhi - Bangalore nearly 4 (once through Golden Q and thrice in the Kashmir-Kanyakumari highhway - NH44) times. If you drive safely and with reasonable rest, it's only 4 days. The experience is great and cost and peace of mind far outweigh transporting through packers!

Re: Whats the Best way to transport a car or bike?

I would be transporting my C class from Delhi to Manipal (near Manglore KA) to college. It's roughly 2112 km. What is the best way to transport it? Should I drive it here or get it moved via a packers and movers service?

What are the costs involved and if I drive it myself which route should I take, as great highways and roads all out are more important than the distance for a car like this

Re: Whats the Best way to transport a car or bike?

Hi folks, has anyone worked with Gati Transport? I have to transport a brand new Skoda Octavia from the dealer in Calicut (Kozhikode) to Delhi. I have taken quotes from multiple vendors including Agarwal Packers, and it appears, in terms of quote: Small time transporter > Gati > Agarwal.

Having read horrible reviews for Agarwal, I'm more inclined to go with Gati. Narration of experiences with them would be incredibly helpful.

Please note that due to Covid situation, driving it myself is looking completely out of question now.

Re: Whats the Best way to transport a car or bike?

A friend of mine is buying a compact SUV at Chennai, his hometown. He will be moving to Pune on work for about 7-8 months.
He needs the vehicle in Pune for his commute.
He has had a bad experience of a delayed delivery and damages of his four wheeler earlier.
Will the car company be able to deliver the car in Pune if he completes the registration at Chennai ?
