Cheers
Thanks for the share. Hearing the song I now understand why it was not included in the album. The song sounds a bit hollow, devoid of any specifics. The music arrangement is quite bad and the lyrics definitely don’t live up to the likes of “I want it all”

Re: The Music Thread

A very energising song by Bette Middler from 1990. It's so very soothing to see the witty, ebullient and outspoken Bette in such a sober mood, rendering a lovely ballad !

These ballads with a soul are missed but are neither lost nor forgotten in the noisy music scenario of today. In comparison, these ballads have an eternal shelf life.

James Blunt's twitter posts are absolutely hilarious (mostly self-deprecating humor).

Re: The Music Thread

The music in the new movie Qala released on Netflix is such a beautiful treat.

I love all the songs in this album.

So nice to have such meaningful poetry and a focus of vocals.

Re: The Music Thread

Here’s some nice old-school (I say old-school, but it’s from 2012) hip-hop, coming bizarrely out of Italy!

Context: this is Italy’s Machete Crew, the largest hip-hop group in Italy. They’ve released 7 mixtapes (4 under the Machete Mixtape series and 3 under the Bloody Vinyl series) and the group was founded by three guys: rappers Salmo and Hell Raton (formerly El Raton) and producer Slait (formerly DJ Slait).

This track, ‘King’s Supreme’ is taken off the first Machete Mixtape (also available on streaming as ‘Machete Mixtape Gold Edition’) and features quite a few other rappers, more specifically Ensi, En?gma, Bassi Maestro, Rocco Hunt and Gemitaiz.

Great track IMO. Closest you’ll get to this off one of the more recent Machete projects is ‘BLOODY BARS - DRILLUMINAZIONE’ from 2020’s Bloody Vinyl 3, but King’s Supreme is at least 5 times better.

Re: The Music Thread

Jeff Beck passes away. An amazing guitarist I must say who influenced many bands. His style of playing was pretty different and focused on bringing blues to main stream rock. RIP

Jai Ho Redux. While Naatu Naatu is an entertaining song , its forte is the rather unique choreography .Its hardly a song one would listen to wirhout the video playing. Its ironic that both Rahman and MMK got international recognition for compositions that are decidedly inferior( musically) to their other work.

Sad news indeed! He was one of the legends, who never compromised on style of play.

Re: The Music Thread

Got few CDs of this singer, Yao Si Ting. The recording quality is very good. Even the sound quality in the YouTube is good. Good collection of vocal songs.
