Only here, we can take a decently running system and screw it up.
A screwed-up system is what our corrupt politicians and babus want. They probably would have logged bugs for the earlier version of the system stating it is working without any hiccups

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

Got my first Covishield shot on 3rd May at Ashok Nagar, Delhi since no slots were available in Noida. The turn up was huge, around 200 people showed up and a section of the road was blocked to accommodate this queue. Social distancing was followed to the dot, but some miscreants cut the line at the first opportunity they got, and well they got away with it too. Overall I'd say that Delhi Police did a great job. Also, props to Delhi Govt. for making the vaccine available free of cost to the masses.

The venue was bifurcated into sites, and there were a total of 5 of them. These sites were nothing but a single classroom within a school. So, I was booked at Site 5 and imagine my horror when they told me that Site 5 was down due to an apparent "Server/Equipment crash", and this after standing in the queue for 2 hours, "shitty luck", I thought to myself.
Fortunately, it started back up(sort of) after another 30 mins and these people started verifying appointments using a portal they opened up on their smartphones , geniuses!!

Anyways once it started it went on pretty smoothly from there and I was out in no time, once the initial backlog at Site 5 cleared. Didn't wait for 30 mins post vaccination as recommended and headed straight home.

Being 23, I had this false notion that I'd have no side effects, boy, was I wrong. A few hours after vaccination, I had this splitting headache which just wouldn't go, and apparently continued till the very next day and the entire night before. The night was terrible, temperature reached 101F, accompanied by body ache and chills. Took a Dolo 650(paracetamol), and somehow put myself to sleep. The morning was somewhat the same, took a day off from work, and well just rested the entire day and by night, I was perfectly fine again.

Now 48 hours after, I just have slight soreness in my right arm.

Be safe guys, stay indoors and get vaccinated.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

Friend stood in queue for 2hrs at Nair Hospital, Mumbai today. On being asked, she informed them that she had food allergies. The doctor refused to administer her Covidshield saying it could cause side effects & that Covaxin would be a better option which they didn't have. After she left, CoWin showed 1st dose administered. Thereafter, she got a call from Nair Hospital asking her to come back. After some Senior Doctors got involved she was given Covidshield!

How did you manage to get the appointment? I’ve been looking at it all day and can’t get any :(

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

Got my first jab of Covishield under 18-45 category, at Apollo Sheshadripuram (BLR) 24 hours ago. I went really early so was among the first ones to get the jab. However, within minutes of reaching the venue, the crowd swelled and social distancing went for a toss. So please go early to get out of there ASAP

About 12 hours after the shot, developed fever(100F) and a massive headache. Could barely sleep. The headache is still there this morning along with body fatigue.

It shows many hospitals on Cowin. But the moment i enter mobile number for registration (2nd dose), all these hospitals disappear and am left with a bunch of govt and very few private hospitals who have slots booked till 2 weeks ahead.

Like the bed booking scam, i hope there's nothing similar in this case too.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

If anyone has been successful in using some bot or whatever to get the appointment especially in Bangalore, can you please share the information on what bots were used etc? Given the bed booking scam, I'm getting a feeling that there's a vaccine booking scam as well and I'd rather get the vaccine than be left to fend for myself searching for a bed or something.

I would say, keep onchecking frequently. The moment a new facility is opened for vaccination, lot of empty slots appear.
Just keep on trying. Do not try to search based on Pincode. Select based on Zone. You will get more options.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

This is a very inefficient system. Ideally, the portal should have assigned slots based on time of registration and location preferences. Now, the entire nation's productivity goes for a toss, searching for vaccination slots.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

Just wondering, if the people who voted "I am not in favour of this vaccine" have a change of opinion considering how serious the Covid issue is now.

There is a telegram group dishing out alerts for slot openings at major locations. You can find it here

At the time I managed to get a booking, there were less than 300 people in the group but now there are a whopping 20+k people playing fastest fingers first to get a slot. Even I'm trying for other family members but no luck.

Contacted them yesterday - they have no stock and no clue about ETA of stock.

They need 50 people minimum for a vaccination drive.
