Nothing, just have to wait. This is the same situation all over. They are probably waiting for vaccine availability before opening it up for the inevitable mad rush!

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

1.32CR registrations yesterday. That is a daunting number. Let's hope state/center starts getting vaccines with all the data they have now.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

Was able to register 2 people including me. But slots only for 45+
I randomly checked some other districts as well and yet to see a 18+ slot.

Curious to know if anyone was able to see 18+ in any place

Am in a much smaller town (population<15k) where there has not been any visible rush for vaccinations at the sole vaccination (CHC) center. But even here the slots haven't been opened for anyone below 45 yet. There are ample slots for 45+ though. I think it'll take a few weeks before each state can arrange for enough shots for the rest of us.

Personally I didn't expect to get a shot till next year, given the logistics of managing our population. And personally, I am absolutely fine with that- I do want to get vaccinated and as soon as possible, but there are lakhs of people who are more at risk and need the shot before people like I do. But why make a huge announcement about opening vaccinations for all by May 1st when there was no chance it was ever going to happen by that date anyway?! Getting really tired of these stupid optics from all governments (center/state/ruling party/opposition/whatever). Start doing the actual work before making the grand announcements!

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

Are the registration for Covid vaccine open for all today?
I'm based in Karnataka.

When I try it keep saying, "OOPS, TRY AGAIN".

On a lighter note, a friend cracked this good one today: "The vaccine website is asking us to be patient while registering...keep trying till you're 45!"

For your specific question, yes, registration is open (I was able to register easily this morning), but slots for scheduling an appointment are still showing as "only for 45+". Anyone's guess when that will change.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

Vaccination for 18-45 age group in Andhra Pradesh could start only in September as per the CM.

Quote:
Considering the number of vaccine doses already administered to those above 45 years of age across India, he said another 39 crore vaccine doses are required to vaccinate beneficiaries above 45 years. With other vaccine manufacturers expected to begin the production soon, this demand is likely to be met only by August or September, he said, adding that vaccination for people between 18 and 45 years will begin after that.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

Looks like its going to be a long wait before most of us in the 18-45 age group are vaccinated.

I visited the hospital where my parents took their second shot as they told me over the phone they had no idea when they'd commence vaccinations for all. On speaking to a few there, the earliest they expect to begin is in the first week of June as there's a lot of uncertainty regarding when and how they'd get the doses.

I really hope they can start much earlier but it doesn't seem to look like they will.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

We went for our second Covishield dose (at 38 days) at Columbia Clinic. In and out in 45 minutes flat with superb delivery of the shot itself. Very smooth experience and CO-WIN portal certificate was updated in around 2 hours.

Post-shot: minimal side effects for me (sore bicep only), but wifey was down with body-ache and soreness. She had a Crocin tab and it went away within 3/4 hours. All well now and looking forward to reaching some level of immunity.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

Hi
I was helping a elderly couple to get their 2nd shot of Covishield from a local corporation outlet in Chennai. Pleasantly surprised with the efficiency of the corporation staff. All the couple had to carry was the slip given to them for their first dose. The staff were courteous, place neatly organised, no over crowding or jostling for places and the whole thing was done in 30mins. A bay for post vaccination people to check their vitals with adequate spacing and a staff nurse who charted their pre and post vaccination data in a humongous file. This centre was better organised than few corporates I have been to and all of this was done without any charge.

Where is this clinic located? Same as Columbia Asia?

Way out of the way (except for north Bangaloreans) I'm afraid. It's the Doddaballapura one located at:

Columbia Asia Hospital - Doddaballapur
080666 06666
https://maps.app.goo.gl/yaPnnHEBF5mVaU2L6

Walk-ins are possible between 1400-1600 but we called them at 1100, confirmed availability of Covishield, pre-registered by sharing our Aadhaar numbers etc, and then only went.

Sat in our car till they opened, and later waited similarly in case of any aftereffects. There were barely 15-20 people that day, and mostly first dose ones.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

Apologies if this has been answered earlier on the thread:

How long before the first dose is considered a waste if the second dose is getting delayed for covaxin?

A senior citizen I was helping out at our apartment complex has had his first dose, but there's issue with stock availability and appointment availability for the seconds dose.
