Madhavan and kareena kapoor too. Its shooting was supposedly going on in punjab somewhere when saif had picked up a fight with some journalist.

I know Hiumesh is notoriuos for his nasal twang. But just listen to the songs without any bias. Dhoom tere ishq ki and Lut jaun are actually nice songs.

Overall, I think he has done a decent job. But yes, nothing compared to the old Karz music.

The first time i heard that lut jaon song, i was like ***!!! Its a straight lift-off Karunesh-Punjab. The rythme, the flow everything.

And i believe Himesh claimed few months back, that he works on original tunes only.

Yup. Nothing can beat original Karz - the movie and the music!
Music is ok for the music but i just cant stand his voice. So much talented is getting wasted in India but Himesh is going on and on

There is nothing like originality in Bollywood. When stories are stolen music is small in comparison. King of stolen melodies - Anu Malik who also thinks he is one of the greatest singers world has seen.

Has he not given credit to the original singer, assuming that Karunesh is the original ?

Nopes. He hasn't. Infact the Karunesh song is a dedication to OP Nayyar's Aao Huzoor Tumko, which was done with due permission in 2002.

Sam has fallen in love with "Tak tananana Tandoori Nights" from Karzz. So the music must be good huh ?

Hello

Verdict - 1.5/5. Quite boring actually. Nothing more to add - Sohail Khan and Sharman Joshi (his acting reminded me of his role in Metro) are good - the rest are bad. Salman looks old and Kat looks ravishing. Thats it.

Give it a miss.

What's the review on Babylon A.D? Nice action eh ?

Apparently its not. Infact a lot of audience walked out after intermission during the premiere. Horrible screenplay, Pathetic sets, Amateurish direction and haggard acting by everyone.

The road to perdition? Tom Hanks is in the hiding and kills everyone but the gang leader (Paul Newman) and kills him from close. But this is not really an old movie ... so, which one is it?

BTW, watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid a few weeks back. Pretty good movie.
Also watched Jane Tu Ya Ja Ne Na last week. The idea of the 2 joker brothers who come on a horse in this movie seemed to be taken from the Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. There have been enough movies that have imitated The Good, Bad and Ugly, so this was a new theme from a different movie.

I agree, Chetan Bhagat is a shallow writer. He is good as long as he sticks to observations, but he should keep away from drawing conclusions, he is not experienced enough for that.

How could Sholey copy Tom Hanks movie? Anyway, hydrashok had given the right answer.

Recently saw Spanglish, didn't have any expectations. Turned out be brilliant, great acting from the young spanish girl who plays Christna Moreno. I am sure we will see more of her in Hollywood in coming years.

Heh, heh, nope, I didn't.

That particular sequence is actually very memorable for another reason. Peter Fonda, who has always played the good guy plays a really bad guy in this one (I think he played the bad guy for the first time in this movie). So what he does in that scene is pretty shocking to the typical movie-watcher. I did not make the Sholay connection till you mentioned it.

In addition, that movie has perhaps one of the greatest opening sequences ever -- the three gunslingers waiting for Charles Bronson in the train station. If you noticed, all of that sequence was without any dialogue, with just the grating sound of the windmill in the background. Sergio Leone at his best!
