Just completed watching this yesterday and I should say, I had a harrowing experience. I initially didn't want to continue after watching 10 mins of the first episode, but came back to it after trying "Joey" for some fun.

A couple of months ago, I watched Them, which was trashed by some reviewers as degradation porn. I wouldn't give high marks for the story but the series was a well made one - very disturbing and thought provoking. Them can be seen as a continuation of the Underground Railroad if you may, although they are two different threads.

One funny thing is the episodes vary in length. Most of them are about an hour, but one is just 40 mins while there is a real long one at 70 mins.
If you thought 40 was too short, episode 7 was just 17 mins in length. And ep 9, a whopping 75 mins.

I kinda like it when they give each episode the amount of screen time it requires rather than fitting or stretching everything to 60 mins. Now that conventional television is not the primary market for such series, the makers have more freedom in these aspects.

Marianne:

Watched the first episode last night. And it was a decent horror beginning. Will be continuing

After the disappointment of "The Haunting of Hill House", this looks like it's more horror less drama.

For those who are searching for light comedy

Ted Lasso [Apple TV] - Rating - 4/5
Story revolves around the struggles of a US coach who is hired to improve the performance of an English football club. It’s all about the characters and their dynamics off the field, not a lot of on field action. It’s a very light hearted, feel good watch. Big thumbs up for Jason Sudeikis and Hannah Wadding for keeping the audience interested and engaged through the series. Eagerly awaiting Season 2.

Mythic Quest Ravens Banquet[Apple TV] - Rating - 3.75/5
A very funnny perspective on the internal and external dynamics of a game development studio. More fun to watch if you are a gamer. The characters, their quirks and interactions are quiet hilarious. Having watched 5 episodes of the 1st season, I would definetly rate it a good watch if you liked Silicon Valley.

Resident Alien[SyFy - Went old school to watch this] - Rating - 4/5
An alien crash lands near a quiet mountain town and is forced to take on the role of the town doctor. Alan Tudyk as the alien doctor is brilliant, his facial expressions and body language is spot on. Supporting cast also does a very good job of holding their own and driving the narrative. While the storyline does have its plot holes, overall it’s a pretty fun watch.

The season 2 is out! Didn't watch it yet. But just a headsup for those looking forward to it

Will start Marianne today, after hearing some rave reviews. Hope it lives up.

Hill House was still much better than the Bly Manor one! Had much expectations, but fell totally flat.

Loki- Disney Plus

Good watch for Marvel fans. Sets up the MCU very nicely for the phase 4 movies and Multiverse of Madness I think.

What more there is a sequel as well.

No Sudden Move (2021 Movie) on HBO Max

I was drawn to this movie purely from a location and storyline perspective and should be interesting for all us automative lovers.

Story is based in 1950's Detroit where a heist is planned to steal the blueprint of a automotive part (Catalyst Convertor) and has an ensemble star-cast (Don Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro, Brendan Fraser etc) and directed by Steven Soderbergh.

Since I live in Detroit, I was trying to relate to the locations as it was mostly shot in the East Side of Detroit which is little run-down and has a lot of black population.

Interesting storyline of a crime drama with an automotive twist.

3.5/5

He-Man and the masters of the universe - Revelation

Started on this for the nostalgia. But sad that the soundtrack is no longer same. Netflix should have retained the old soundtrack.

Read reviews for Bly Manor and sounded like it was a drama series, so gave it a miss.

Finished watching Marianne last night. Overall it was a pretty good horror series but the old lady was the scariest character in it. brrr.

While there were some plot holes, it could be ignored

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Watching India's deadliest road (IRT - Ice road truckers) where celebrities Mandira Bedi, Varun (chucha from fukrey) and Sangram Singh drive trucks in rough terrain to deliver goods.

Watching on Discovery+ app.

Since this is an automotive forum, I have a query for people out here. In the show, they will travel on roads to leh and rohtang pass and other places (starting from Manali). Why are the roads so bad and why something as basic as a barrier which can prevent the trucks from falling in the valley missing?
I mean, why does the administration not build proper roads with all road signs, line markers and single lane (both ways) and most importantly barriers?

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Watched Season 5 of 'Line of Duty' on Netflix. Show is still good as ever though earlier seasons were better I felt. Not sure when Season 6 releases on Netflix India.

'The Serpent' on Netflix is also a decent watch. Except the puking bit!

'Fatma' on Netflix is an okayish watch. The pace is good which holds your attention.

'4 Blocks' - a German series on Prime is another good show. If you like gangster kinda series, you will enjoy it. Not exactly a path breaking show, but watchable in most parts.

Currently watching 'Madam Secretary' on Prime. Watched 9 episodes so far, fast losing interest in it! Show is just not captivating enough to hold my attention.

'Grahan' on Hotstar is also a decent watch. Its an emotional story about the riots. Good plot development & characters, can be a bit depressing at times though.

Most important thing they also need is profiles. I am sure people are keen to share the premium plan and profiles will make everything a lot better.

You are watching a six year old show, roads have vastly improved ever since !!

Saw Modern Love on Amazon Prime, breezy watch and also Emmy nominated series. Some superlative acting and unconventional stories make the series worth a watch.

Rating- 3.5/5
