You are, ah.. how do we say it...being fully right friend!
However, the point of learning from Sam is that there is going to be a funny twist to it somewhere. i.e. Humour is included free, as in no extra cost.
I suspect that he too knows that he has a convoluted brain (!!) and has specialized in telling it in a funny way, illustrated with often delightful examples. Sometimes, though, he will throw in 'rigorous' grammer and terminology, which may not always be right! But the idea and usage are made clear in an extremely entertaining way. Who cares whether it is a transitive verb or a pompous pronoun!

Bang on! The way I have said it is vernacular, though popular. The right way to say would have been "The people who brake suddenly"

Under all circumcisions, it is incorrect grammar.

In the circumcissions, surely, Sam?

And I don't see anything wrong with hating people that brake* suddenly, although it doesn't bother me that much, because, being a smug Brit, I always stay far enough away from the car in front

*Woops! I ever so nearly posted break! Now, fragile people I really don't care for!

Help!
In I understand.
ss I do not.

While googling for the ss bit I came across a very good explanation for why the Jews have this practice - They must take 15% off everything!

Nice thread!!

Highly recommended to all wanting to kill time on a boring Monday afternoon at work. (Or any other day of the week for that matter!!)

Reminded me a an incident during my Uni days in Sydney, when i was teaching my Japanese flatmate the correct / various way / ways of using the "F" word, with a poem i knew. (Not sure if I'm allowed to post it [the poem] here)

Damn this thread...now i have to think twice before clicking the "SEND" option on outlook....Arrrrggghh!!!

Cheers..

Prasad Iyer

Damn this thread...
You have successfully managed to confuse me (it doesn't take much)!
My personal opinion is that you can freely post poetry here - in fact we are connoisseurs of fine poetry!

He is right in not posting the profane poetry here. He is obviously familiar with the rules unlike some people.

Thanks for the welcome back... was in UK for a month, but I think I managed a post or two from there.

Got back last night and have to confess that I've been here for 24 hours without even uncovering the car! That's probably enough to get me banned from this forum! Looks like one of the tires is a bit flat, though...

The only thing I can say about the ss is that it reflects my usual standard of spelling!

Here's one back on topic, though. On another forum (an Indian one) I read today that someone felt that a particular charge should be waivered.

I don't think there's any such word --- surely it should be waived?

Absolutely. I agree with you. I've seen that being used as well and it makes me shudder.
The fees were waived - The fees were cancelled. This is how it should be used.

Waiver, on the other hand is the act or the instance of waiving.

I think in speech it is confused with wavering.

Wavering means shaky, unsteady. He never wavered from his intentions.

I have never heard this term before in my life. What does it mean? It sounds rude!
Where did you hear/read it? In what context?
