What is the extra amount you would need to cough up? The way prices are rising in Bangalore is kinda worrying.
An increase of 50% . Isn't there supposed to be a notification or something before the rates increase!

Well, they can always claim it was in the papers. Not that it would have been of much help. How much could you have advanced the registration?

Re: The Property / Real Estate Thread

I'm on the lookout for an apartment in between Dommasandra and Sarjapur town. Area should be around 1200 sq ft and the total budget is 30 L. I would prefer a ready to move in apartment. Am I asking for too much? I am ok with even flats on the Sarjapur-Attibele road.
Just a few weeks back, got the perfect apartment for all my needs, but my whole family was against me and got it canceled due to Vasthu reasons ( turns out, I am the only rational guy in my whole extended family :( ) .

The flat's been ready for a couple of months but I wasn't in Bangalore.

Was planning to take advantage of the durga puja holidays to come down and finish the registration. Plan backfired.

Re: The Property / Real Estate Thread

@CrackedHead-

Increase is in stamp duty alone? If so, IMHO, the builder is justified. But asking for a higher price simply because the govt''s indicative prices have been revised up is simply X#Z$$%^, Well, I do not have a word for it.

Re: The Property / Real Estate Thread

Just a small suggestion, why dont we rename the thread as Property/Real estate in Bangalore thread .
95% of the posts are from members in Bangalore or members shifting to Bangalore. No offence.

Welcome to Bangalore Waseem.

Check this thread: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/shifti...tion-help.html

To get you started.

You have a healthy budget there and a good part of town to live. Also look on sulekha.com for rental ADs.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Sulekha has been my favourite website from last 5-6 years, but the Bangalore classifieds (rentals) one is infested with agents.

Re: The Property / Real Estate Thread

It kind of breaks the Heart to see the insane prices in Bangalore. I am here in Hyderabad for a month and the prices are so rational here. Telengana effect maybe. Unfortunately the real estate in Bangalore will never see a downturn. Better cough out a lung and some blood and pay like hell for a small apartment.

Take off the agents list and stick to individuals. Try 99acres.com too. I managed to find about 11 listings in your scope.

+1 to Spitfire's note.

And the agents typically do not have up-dated ads. The ads are also indicative. You call and ask, they will say - no sir, that one's gone.

Many times agents post the ads as individuals. You will only get to know when you call them. Genuine individual ads are few.

I had to go through 10+ ads before i could talk to an owner and guess what? The place had already been taken :(

Re: The Property / Real Estate Thread

You can set your price paid to the broker before starting to search. 90% of them want you to just take some place of their choice by 5 houses. Very few honest brokers. They operate on a network. They hardly take the initiative to understand your requirements, they dont care.

Re: The Property / Real Estate Thread

What I swear by: You will always get a better house and deal if you dont go through a broker in Bangalore.

Trust me on the above.
