Wow this list is really tempting me to drop in this weekend. :). Where is it? 1.8k for one person?

Its on 100 feet road, Indira Nagar.

Had been to "Wow Momo" in Phoenix Market City, Whitefield; on saturday. The Chicken and Prawn' pan-fried momo's were really good, though the Chicken Thukpa was average. The pan-fried ones are a must for spice-lovers.

You could also try Rendezvous, which is near the Sony world signal. They serve some nice steaks and a whole variety of other cuisines as well.

It can get really crowded at times though.

Ordered dinner last evening from Empire @ Mosque road

1, Chicken Tikka Masala
2, Ghee Rice &
3, Kerala Parantha (4 No's)

The food was horrible.Will never recommend this place even to my worst enemies.

Total Damages-Rs 375.

When you say "ordered", did you mean home delivery? I ask because i have found huge difference in food quality between home delivered and dine-ins in almost all restaurants.

And some restaurants I know are the other way round! :D

This Chinese place Chungs, off CMH Road, Indiranagar, is terrible when you dine in, but brilliant when you take away!


When we friends get together for a night, we generally order take away from such restaurants, and I haven't had bad experiences so far. Empire on 80ft Road Indiranagar isn't bad at all.

Welcome to Bangalore! The food scene is relatively dull in Bangalore compared to Hyderabad in my opinion.

It was home delivery and and +1 to your observation.Indeed there is a difference when u order a take away/ home delivery vis-a-vis dine-ins.

This is surprising.Will check out Chungs and Empire @ Indiranagar.

Thanks for the warm welcome whitesqall.Indeed the food scene is dull here compared to Hyderabad.I am counting my days here as i need to pass 2 years in Bangalore.

Oh I missed this thread over the last few months! I really really miss getting high reading other people's experiences with good food.

I've had a few myself which I havent shared here....

Let me start with the most recent.

Punjab Grill by Jiggs Kalra, Koramangala opposite Shooper's Stop.

Dad(his B'day), Mom, Sis and me.

Starters: Chicken Malai tikka was amazing. I've rarely had such soft succulent chicken in a kabab. The Salmon Tikka was also fantastic. Absolutely top class! At this time we were extremely happy.

Main course: When we go to an Indian restaurant, we HAVE to order the butter chicken. So, we did and along with it a Kadai Chicken as well.

The butter chicken is obviously sweet. It was really good. The Kadai chicken was ordered so that we have something spicy also but it wasnt. Everyone at the table loved it but I felt it was too toned down for foreign palates.

The curries felt a lot like the ones we get at Tandoor (M G Road). The butter chicken is not authentic but tasty.

Overall, the food is brilliant but is not authentic punjabi khana. I've had punjabi khana in small dhabas in Karol Bagh and this came nowhere close.

To finish off, they give you what they call Paan shots. It's pan flavoured liquid in small shot glasses. I am not a big fan of paan and didnt have it but my mom liked it. Dad didnt!

The bill came to 3500 for this. We were expecting it so no surprises but I have to say for the premium they charge over a place like Tandoor, there was nothing.

It seems like they spent a lot of money on the decor and the ambience. I would definitely not go back there again unless I HAD to stick to Koramangala.

On second throughts, I wouldnt go back there at all. Tandoor has opened a second restaurant in Oasis Mall.

One major major drawback of Punjab Grill was that the variety was very very limited. We had only 3 options for chicken curries (or was it 4?). I expected a lot of variety for the kind of price and hype that was created.

Sorry to hear your experience, but KP and Chicken Tikka Masala/Butter Chicken are the worst dishes at any Empire. The KP is as thick as a Pizza and harder than the plate it is served on. I was there last week and found the Grilled chicken ,Raan and Dosa Chicken quite good. I doubt the crowd at Empire really cares about the food, quite rare for sober folks to go for dinner between 12-3 a.m.

There are reviews of a considerable number of the good restaurants and eateries in Bangalore, right from street food to the posher places. Good attention to detail, and in general a very pleasant reading experience.

All those who like reading about food, and unbiased reviews of restaurants, do give this site a look.

Had been to "Keys restaurant" on Hosur road for lunch. The experience, well, was just about average! Lunch buffet at @ INR 430 all inclusive is exorbitant considering the spread (very limited), taste (just average) and the ambiance (small n dull). I feel it's not worth visiting it even if it's somebody else's party!

Even at the 'Darshini(s)' they say thick chutney for parcel and the watery chutney for people who eat there :-)
