Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

Good to see rains since the afternoon in this otherwise rocky city. Apparently, Andhra Pradesh and Chattisgarh have had the best rainfall this year as per the MET department.

Today TOI mentioned that Hyderabad has had 70% excess rainfall than the normal average. Hope it continues this way.

Overcast skies for days and still no rain. Until a few hours ago.

It has stopped though.

This has got to be one of the driest monsoons in a while.

Steady drizzle now since the past 10 mins in North Bangalore. The sound of water trickling into the rain-water harvesting well at home has gotten louder/steady.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

This is the first time we are seeing cloudy skies for days and not raining. Weakest monsoon ever in Bangalore. :(
If Bangalore does not get rains regularly in monsoons, by 2020 the city will suffer from heavy water crisis as told by a research institute.

Here in Mumbai too we have had days of clouds with very little rain. July is one of the wettest but this time very poor monsoon

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

Only this year, there's lot of clouds passing by-this in Kerala, Palghat gap or even in Bangalore-but the intensity of rain is very less. Unless it is explained by scientific terms like ENSO or IOD, we all have to assume that only global warming is the cause.

Theorists have already predicted that global warming will result in reduced seasonal rainfall and increase in unpredictability of rain as well as torrential rains that damage life and property.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

Finally it's raining in Pune. Since yesterday, medium to heavy rainfall. The temperature has come down considerably and for a change it's nice to see some good rain, instead of drizzles ! Also, it has been raining continuously since yesterday afternoon.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

It rained yesterday in Thane like nothing before for a brief 15 mins. A distance of 500 meters looked difficult to trudge, the rains lashed on the windscreen rendering the highest wiper speed useless. And there were the usual morons with hazard lights on.
