Jammy,

A wonderful vehicle you have. Even more great since it has been maintained well by the previous owner.

And I do think its time you get your own onwership thread going. You have people go ga-ga over your ride, that this one is going OT (including this post of mine!).

@ Shankar.Balan - You know what they say: Birds of same feather flock together! Great going guys! :-)

Model: Scorpio DX CRDe 2.6 (July 2006)
Colour: (Steel?) Grey
ODO: 26386 km

Accessories:
  • HR Alloy wheels (4)
  • 3M Sun film
  • ICE: Panasonic head unit(will provide details of model later), Xplod Amp & Woofer, Boston speakers (4)
  • Mahindra Magicure paint protection
  • Fog lamps
@Mathurji: Yep, the research has been on for so long and it was exasperating thanks to various minor roadblocks (details of purchase decision will be posted separately in a few days). But I believe the wait was worth it as I seem to have landed a fairly good vehicle, after all. And you are right - the vehicle really rocks!

Cheers,
i assume you have done these aftermarket accessories on your SUV. the alloys look cool, got inspired from the golden scorpio?
have a great time buddy, your scorpio rocks.

Thanks all for your wishes.

As Happywheels mentioned, I don't want this thread to get derailed; so have started a new thread on the purchase process, etc: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...io-2-6-dx.html

@ Roshun: I ain't surprised about the 'ivory' grey; I got the biggest shock when I discovered Shankar's greenish tint is officially called 'Rocky beige'! I would love to know how they go about naming these colours at M&M! Thanks for the info, mate!

@shankar: yep, waiting to do that drive. First one could be Wayanad & Kappad in early Oct; still working out the modalities.

@Raj: Friend, I haven't touched the vehicle yet (in terms of accessories); these were all done by the previous owner. Will detail out my thoughts on the bits and pieces in my other thread. As Happywheels said, the previous owner sure deserves kudos for maintaining the vehicle well.

Ok, here's one more pic of the Scorp soaking in the downpour this afternoon:

Cheers,

A half day would cover it.
But please get these jobs done in DRY season!

in my case, the teflon coating was done before the delivery of the vehicle, so i have no idea about it.
the underbody anti rust treatment was done along with the 1st free service. they do it in 4-5 hrs.
anup, isnt the anti rust coating to be done in the rainy season??

Thanks Raj...I think Anup means that it should be done pre monsoon.

Raj, the coating is to prevent monsoon damage but it should be applied in DRY conditions, as with any other coating.
No coating can be successfully applied in moist/humid conditions.

Guys,

In all the excitement, got the name of the paint treatment mixed up; it's called Maxicare and NOT Magicure as I mentioned (wonder where I thought that up!). Sorry about the error.
