Re: Sunglasses you own and wear thread

Does anyone know whether the stores like Shoppers Stop and all give certificate of authenticity with brands like Oakley?

And also what are the best sources to buy originals?
Online portals are having almost all fakes.
Sites like Lenskart and all are not to be trusted.

Re: Sunglasses you own and wear thread

Hi everyone,

After 9 years of using the same pair of sunglasses, I finally got a new pair last month. I had bought the Ray Ban aviators in the summer of 2008 after receiving my first paycheck during the summer internship. For the last 9 years, I have literally worn them everywhere - to office, for certain sports, hiking, skiing etc. Good thing I was able to care for them well. I thought about changing them a couple of times but couldn't get anything that fit half as well.

I was looking at the Ray Ban Justin with the green lenses but somehow it wasn't available anywhere- so went with the Polaroids in similar design. It has a nice rubberized frame and polarized lenses.

I still use the Ray Ban for everyday office use, and use the new ones sparingly - can't really let go of the aviators

Here's one for all car lovers. Got it in Feb.
Got it as soon as I saw it, didn't even think. It was just perfect.

Please suggest a sunglass for toddler. Not sure if the below mentioned sunglass fits 16 months old.

unlikely. You should go to a store to find the correct size. Another approach could be custom made sunglasses- most shops have frames for kids.

RayBan Brown Mirror Chromance Polarized

Treated myself to a RayBan for driving, bought from its India website.
(I still own and use a RayBan I bought 21 years ago!)

Ordered on 18th, got it only today, 28th.
It is 'Brown Mirror Chromance Polarized'.

Some photos of the new and the old one:

Re: Sunglasses you own and wear thread

Could anyone please give me a hint as to which shade is this man wearing?

To me the sunglasses look awesome. I'm sure it must be some insanely expensive item, but was just curious to know!

Got this one for me: Brand - Emporio Armani. Very comfortable to wear. Could wear full day drive from Hyderabad to Chennai without any issue.

Re: Sunglasses you own and wear thread

I want to buy prescription sunglasses and I'm looking at Maui Jims with OEM lenses. Can someone tell me which MJ frames support lenses at -5.25 diopters?

Re: Sunglasses you own and wear thread

I would be needing some prescription glasses. Can anyone recommend me of any good opticians in Chennai? I have an old acetate frame with me and I would just want the glasses done. I would prefer to have the following:

1. It must be either from Essilor, Zeiss or Hoya
2. I would like to have the glasses with a blue filter

Any suggestions on where I should look for and how much the cost would be for a pair?

Search online for location of Turakhia or GKB opticians. I have had good experience with Turakhia.

Re: Sunglasses you own and wear thread

I have been using a pair of Ray Ban aviators since 2011. The nose pads have become hard now. Can I replace the pads anywhere in Hyderabad or Bangalore? Or can I order them online? I didn’t find any info.

Lenses Centre plus Secunderabad.
9885617786 Contact Mr.Majid.
It's a good VFM store with multiple brands.
They stock Ray Ban frames(where in we buy prescription lenses). I got mine from them. Nose pads should be available.

Any idea about how much could it cost? Of course I can contact and check with them, but wanted to know beforehand on how much should I expect for a pair of glasses from the brands that I need!
