Firstly here is an actual image of the waterways in Olive Stripe.

This is one of the few sunglasses that I personally use, mostly for driving during dawn and dusk.
The HT green is the perfect color to use for these light conditions.

If you need to exclusively use at night have a look at BlueBlocker. I have a pair, that is use sometimes. It just about does the job, however I prefer not to wear at night, especially when I am driving.

You can order this online as of now. I am planning to bring this to India when I go live with my online store in a few weeks time.

Re: Predator

Hey beejay, would you be doing Maui Jim with prescription lenses, on your web site that is.

I am looking for a set to wear while driving in dawn/dusk conditions. I basically use reading glasses and do not want to change glasses while driving to read toll tickets and for referring to maps etc.

I have shortlisted 'Bamboo Forest'. Now which colour lens amongst Maui HT & HCL Bronze would be more suitable for the purpose at hand.

Secondly, can I have the plain lenses (Neutral Grey) on my existing MJs model 'Hi Tide' replaced with prescription lenses in the same colour.

Last but not the least per the following set of figures would the width of temple in the Bamboo Forest frame be less than the Hi Tide or does it signify something different and what is the base curve. Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi Tide Specifications:
(eye) 60
(bridge) 18
(temple) 130
6-base curve

Bamboo Forest Specifications:
(eye) 60
(bridge) 18
(temple) 125
6-base curve

Hello Khoj.

How are you, hope the Mauis are keeping good?

Yes, I would be doing prescriptions on my estore.

For your need I think Maui HT prescription in Maui Evolution 1.60 Progressive would be a good bet. Especially for dawn and dusk settings.

Yes, you can replace your high tide plain lenses to prescription with the same color, for single vision and progressive even.

Maui Evolution is available in neutral grey, HCL bronze, maui rose and maui ht.

Polycarbonate is available in Neutral Grey and HCL Bronze only for prescription.

Base curve is how flat your lenses would look in the front area. Higher the base curve, higher the curve.

ie. Base 6 would be flatter than base 8 lenses.

khoj, always try it on. There is no point following sizes available online for tangible products like eye wear. That is why I am going to offer buy three and select one option in my online store.

Feel free to mail in case of any doubts.

re: Sunglasses you own and wear thread

I'm a huge Ray Ban aviator fan. I've got a small collection, started with a 40-50 year old pair that my dad gifted to me(the classic gold frame and very dark green lens).
they've come out with more photo chromatic lenses recently, got a pair today(blue ones)
my most used being the tech aviators, beautiful glasses, with gun metal and carbon fiber used in the frame. I highly recommended for any aviator fan.

Beejay, can you please share more information about BlueBlocker? I am looking for a pair for exclusive night use to be free from high beam blinders and glares.

In reply to my other thread, I thought I would post here too.

This is the Gold and Silver Mirror coat on G15 tints. These are available in prescriptions too with most opticians in the country.

These offer good value and can be fit on frames with curvature too.

Last, these are Polarised Transitions (PhotoChromatic)

The lenses appear green indoor like the MauiJim HT Green and turn Brown when exposed to Sunlight. In the picture, the lenses are light brown from the sunlight captured through the window.

The frame is an Oakley Plantiff and the lenses are -1.00 spherical.

re: Sunglasses you own and wear thread

Has anyone ordered Ray Ban from Snapdeal here? While none of the shops offer discounts on Ray Ban, Snapdeal is offering a cool 20% off. Can anyone confirm how authentic/genuine Snapdeal is? Looking for these ones:

re: Sunglasses you own and wear thread

Got my first pair of Ray-Ban RB3025 in Gun metal with Polarized glasses from a Shop in Thane for Rs.5660. MRP is Rs.6290 and they were having a 10% discount.

Prices of the same online were showing as Rs.5290, but was not sure of the fit and authenticity, so di not take the risk.

How bad are Parim polarised sunglasses?

They cost more than Rs 2000 on LensKart and they're presently offering those sunglasses for just Rs 199. (Ah, you just have to pay for the shipping)
