Here it is. My younger brother got my late dad and me, a Tissot each from Switzerland, when he visited India. Again, that was many years ago. I remember my Tissot had a navy blue dial ( I don't remember the model) and a bit exquisite and definitely a looker than my late dad's model. As days passed, I wore it for a while and then chucked it somewhere in the wardrobe and havent seen it in years.

My dad used to wear his Tissot always and after he passed away, it remained in my work drawer and that's how it was easy to locate.

And the HMT Kanchan, I havent seen it in decades. It must be somewhere in the house though I am not sure.

Instagram is flooded with such businesses. I wonder how these are being bought & sold so openly!

While browsing through FB marketplace, I came across this guy who had listed a used Tissot Le Locle for 30k. When I got in touch with him, he said that that particular piece has been sold and he has a new one to offer at 38k. It was the metal bracelet one which retails for 69k.

He sent me videos and pictures where the watch does look fresh. It’s even got the price tag attached to it. He claims to be a collector who’s started dealing. A quick social media search points to him being an affluent young kid, probably a couple years out of college.

I told him I’d take the watch to either ethos/helios or just in time to get it verified and he agreed without batting an eyelid. He offered that the veracity can be checked against the serial number of and in the watch through the official Tissot site.

Everything here points to a kosher deal. Just that a voice says if something’s too good to be true…

Are there any tips to ascertain the veracity of the watch? How do I ensure that the insides of the Watch are original and haven’t been swapped out with fakes/refurbished parts?

While browsing for watches with some level of Moto madness to it, except for the Tissot T Race series and a couple of Casio edifice, there aren't many option under the sub 500$ category. This Citizen Pro Master SST definitely needs some talk, with a cluster inspired dial placement, the watch features a 1/1000th Second Chronograph along a split second timer.All encased in a sporty attire while being powered by their Eco-drive solar technology.

You are right. Right now one feels Casio has stopped innovating and stopped with their G-Shock tech. It's still an amazing watch but in today's world of smartwatches Casio seems to be stuck in the past.

Think they did have a pro-trek with android wear os years back but nothing much after that.

About discounts on Omega, it seems it’s really limited to 8 percent now although I am being offered a Seamaster 300 at 12 percent. My dream to get an Omega is tempting me to go and take a look at least. These are legendary watches and the prices are most likely going to increase from here.

Has anyone tried buying watches from Watchtopia.in? They seem to be having a good stock of old Seiko watches at reasonable prices. Are they any good ? Not sure how to authenticate the originality of the parts though.
