Aah, thanks for that. Now I ask for more!
What about the Edit option on the app?

Edit: might as well use the Edit option while I am at work! It would be great if our IT support would be as responsive as the tbhp one

yes, the edit functionality is there on the Team-BHP app. i think it will be available for the duration one can make the edit (20mins after post), not afterwards.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

1. I see so many newbies/new members creating back to back posts within 20 minutes of available editing time. I guess new members find it difficult to learn or they are just unaware of that. Mods can please PM a note to every newbie containing instructions on using multi-quote/editing facility available on the forum or mods can take any other relevant action which can be taken in this regard.

2. Why can't we post a link in the signature which can direct others to our Facebook page or our blog? In other words why HTML is not allowed?

Dude, I thought of something better.
Anyway MODS have to approve a newbie's post before it appears it.
How about the MOD who is to approve the post check if the member has made a recent post in the same thread; if he has, then merge it in the existing post itself. And send the member mentioning that he has to adhere to multi-quote/no back-to-back posts.

Agree it'll be some work; but it'll save the work later when MODS have to merge the posts. Something like, prevention better than cure.

One other thing.
There is no mark threads read functionality in the app.
Or is there?

Plus,if I mark threads read on my laptop, they are still unread on my tab and phone.and in any other sequence as well.
Anyone else face this?
I mean I grt the threads that i didn't read on a device as unread, even if in the meantime I've read them somewhere else.

Vintage and Classics in India

Of late, there is a thought, not sure how well it will go down... But...!

1) Maybe keep Vintage & Classic Bike discussions here
2) Get the other Vespa, Bajaj scooters, luna's suvega's over to 2 Wheeler thread,
3) Maybe under 2 wheeler section, add a sub forum ( Classics )

Just a thought, because it feels a bit sad to see Vespa's and Bajaj's being discussed endlessly without content...

Yep, even I get it. Even though I've finished reading the unread posts on my laptop, when I open up the Team-BHP app it shows unread.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Idea,

Can we follow certain users?
can i get a notification when one of my favorite users, like say Sam, posts in shifting gears? That means F5 time is here?

I'd always be interested in posts of a select few folks around here whom one has got a good rapport with. Is that feasible?

This question was already asked, and this was the response.

Plus, why follow only certain BHPians? Instead of following by member, I'd rather follow by thread (i.e. topic of interest) or forum (area of interest). Everyone has something interesting to contribute on Team-BHP
I personally feel the social networking kind of options (e.g.; follow specific user) is not really required here, as we’re in the forum because of a common reason

you can always follow a certain user by clicking on his handle and then click find all posts by *user*

I think he wanted to find out all NEW posts made by that particular user since he had last logged in. I would agree that it's kinda not suitable to a public forum.

Mods, what about the other suggestion I had made? Finding all posts by a certain user in a particular thread?

Is this an issue? Shifting gears is sometimes shown as "Private"

When someone creates a topic in the 'Assembly Line' sub-forum, it can be viewed by only the creator and the mods. Hence, it appears private to the other members.

Bah. Is my or your posts as much fun to read as Sam kapasi or tsk1979's TD log? You and I know the answer.

honeybee - thanks for perfectly understanding. I dont quite see your point tho. Its just a slightly modified SQL query imnsho - not something overly taxing on the system if written decently and its very useful. Its the new posts equivalent of a twitter list, really. As simple.

And, what you're asking for, is already there. Search this thread -> advanced -> by user.

What i've asked for - needs to be built in by system! :(
