Broad strikes, this one bursts through Dravid's defences as it nips back off the seam and takes out middle stump. A long duck for Dravid, who was stuck in the crease and didn't get forward...follows a century with a nought. It's a funny old game

Oh wait, the writer must be an armchair critic!
Common guys, give him a break.
Lets see who, of the younger lot, will play in the Newzealand series.

Sachin gone for 5 of 22!

It was pure ecstasy watching a youngster playing his 2nd test and a No. 10 batsman from South Africa - crush the mighty Aussies into submission.

The Aussies couldn't pick up the last 3 wickets and SA ended with a 60+ run lead.

Jp Duminy and Styen - take a bow guys - brilliant batting.

Aussies look ragged now and they seem to be coming apart at the seam.

I am loving it !

Aussies are in deep trouble at the moment. 173/6 with an overall lead of 100+ runs right now and only Ponting the last recognised batsman at the crease. SA can do the unthinkable, beating Aussies at home. Go SA go!

India reached great heights under Azar's & Ganguly's captaincy. India reached a low in the gap between these 2 tenures. It was during this time Sachin was the captain of India. Except for a ODI Trophy win in Sharjah, there is nothing to write about. Sachin resigned after India lost for the first time to South Africa at home. Here is Sachin's excuse for his poor captaincy:

"Dhoni is obviously a good captain. But a good captain needs a good team"

Link: Dhoni a good captain but we did well as a unit too: Tendulkar

I had seen this interview on TV, this article is wrongly written by the writer.

What he was trying to say in this interview is all the member's from the team is performing today and that's reason of winning the matches.

There was no talk's of his captaincy at all.

Wow man, you have a serious grudge against Sachin huh?

Talk about twisting the facts.

You should seriously try and get a job as a sports editor - cricket. You will really do well, lot of folks will lap up your conclusion above.

PS: you never answered my questions some posts back.

Aussies - Nine down now - SA just has one more nail and it will be all over for Aussies.

Under 200 runs in 95 - 100 overs, should be a cake walk for SA.

Forget the previous stuff.

How did you link Sachin's recent interview as an excuse for his bad captaincy 10 years back?

PS: If its just your opinion, then i dont have an argument. But if you have something concrete to base your assumption that it is an excuse by Sachin then i am all eyes. Like someone said - everyone has an opinion like they have...

There is a 'but' in his statement. That 'but' is a an excuse.

Why will anybody give an excuse?
Meaning of excuse:
1. A defence of some offensive behaviour or some failure to keep a promise etc.
2. A note explaining an absence
3. A poor example

Deep down Sachin is satisfied that many people think he is the greatest batsman (like Bradman). Deep down, he nurses a resentment that not many think of him as a captain (unlike Bradman).

There is nothing wrong with the feeling. But, here he is trying to put down a fellow player by not fully acknowledging his skills & abilities.

Note: Will Dhoni say, 'Sachin is a great batsman but his batting partners also ran his runs' ?
How stupid that statement would be?
